  1. Hi Guys. I am here at work for the first time this week. I have had no power since last friday and I am worn out. My house and my kids and husband survivedthe storm with no damage. It is crazy here. We are under a curfew for the remainder of the month and I am praying that we get power soon. I did not lose water or gas service but there is a lot of damage to lots of homes here. I am hoping to be in the a/c somewhere tonight. My surgery may have to be moved again depending on the status of power restoral. I thank you all for thinking of me. The prayers were much needed because Ike was mother!!
  2. Yea!!! Congrats to you April. I am glad to hear that you ae doing well. My surgery was on Monday but has been cancelled due to Hurricane Ike!:wink2: Continue to take good care of yourself.
  3. My doc said the same thing. No asprin at all at least two weeks before surgery. The only safe thing she said was Tylenol.
  4. It is sooo crazy because I know that I am doing the right thing for me and my health. Just got to shake those nerves off and think about how fine I am going to be this time next summer...:wink2::tt1:
  5. Be safe girlie!!! I am praying for you guys. I just saw that they are evacuating now.
  6. I have settled into knowing that my date will be here soon and I find myself getting nervous thinking about all the bad things that could happen to me. I know I am making the right choice but I am trying to figure out how to shake off this case of nerves. Any ideas?
  7. That is great news! I am happy that you have your date. It will here before you know it.
  8. I will be taking two weeks off to get comfortable and heal after my banding. My doc said that this should be enough time if everything goes smooth.
  9. Hi there! I am new to the group. I had a date in August and had to move it back to September 15th with Dr. Hollis here is Houston.
  10. LMAO!!!! He does have an odd sexiness about him.:tongue_smilie:
  11. See!!! i knew I was not the only one!! Like I said, some of these young boys can get it!!
  12. The "fee" is for the assistance of his nurse to assist him in the procedure. I am a bit put off by this and I am going to just change my date. I have my appointment on Friday and will change it then. With five kids and school starting on the 25th I just can not tweek my budget and I do not want to have to borrow from my savings when i can wait a few weeks.
  13. Today the doc's office called me with some last minute details. One of them was a 400.00 fee that has to be paid four days before my procedure.:) And I am waiting to hear from the hospital to make sure all of my costs are covered. There is no way I will be able to add in 400.00 to my budget for this month. I did not plan for this and now I may have to push the date back. I have an appointment with the surgeon friday and I guess I will see what happens then.
  14. Things will be fine. I will be saying a prayer for a smooth procedure and recovery.
  15. I was very happy to find my sistas here. :)
  16. I was just sitting here watching music videos with my girls and man, Lloyd ( he sings that song Get it Shawty and has a new one called Girls Around the World) that young boy could probably be snatched up.:cool2::w00t: LMAO!!! I think it is the hair, it is so beautiful. My youngest asked me if I knew he was too young for me? LMAO!!!
  17. I know it may seem odd, but I am a visual person and I like to know what't going on ( a little bit of a control freak) So for me to be able to see the procedure from that view has helped a lot. My DH joked that I may be able to perform the procedure myself by the time this is over, since I have watched and researched so much.
  18. Hats off to your friend! I am glad she said something to Jerk 1 & 2. I would never allow my children to have said anything like that or much less have laughed. But I am also the parent that will force children to apologize for their behavior or comments. It is sad that some people teach this hate to their kids.
  19. Glad you are doing so well. I hope my recovery is as smooth.
  20. I am in the process of getting my advance directives taken care of. I know this is a simple procedure but, well I guess you have to have these things. Are there forms that I would fill out, can I just write them down? I am not sure how to approach this. Any direction will be appreciated. Thanks!

  22. Anne I am sorry you are having to find a new surgeon. I wish I had some recommendations. Have you looked online from some of the WLS centers that may have connections with surgeons in your area or Atlanta? I wish you luck in finding one soon.
  23. Congrats to you! One week is very fast!:cool2:
