What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?
Wow! I am really surprised to see the thread still going. There have been times when I felt so very alone in this struggle and thought no one could relate.:blushing::frown: But there will a day soon when we can all we be taking another step to control this. I look forward to that day!

Emotional Eating
I am trying to figure out the best way to deal with this after I have had my procedue. I am an true to the definition of emotional eater. Right now I am having a bit of anxiety about letting my 5 year son go for a week with my in-laws out of state. He has never been away from me for that long.:crying: So I was just going to make me a snack when I realized I am not even hungry, just a bit nerved up. How do you guys deal with issues like this and what it the best way to tackle it? BTW I did not eat the snack, no need to since I was not hungry.

I told my husband about my decision to have surgery.
Good For both of you guys! It makes it so much easier when you have their support. My husband was concerned at first. He had a lot of questions. We researched the procedure and watched the video on youtube. He also went with me to the diagnostic and had a list of questions himself. LOL. Now we are in this together and waiting to get approved. :biggrin2:

What has weight kept you from doing?
I look forward to running again. I want to feel the freedom I used to feel. Now I can barely jog without huffing and puffing. I want to wear "cute" clothes. I am really a hippie sort of by nature but I want to wear those cute dresses that everyone else can wear and it not look like a tent.

One of my pictures after my son was a year old looks as though I was still pregnant!:cool2::smile::smile: When I saw that I knew I had to do something. I did Atkins for 10 months and lost 80 pounds but I have gained it all back. I look forward to taking pictures again.

****Sensitive Topic****
I asked this in another area but did not get the answer I am looking for. I am married and we have a very healthy sex life:wink_smile: I am worried about once the port is placed is there anything that I may need to do to make sure that I do not threaten the placement of the port? No one can seem to answer this for me so far. And I have not been able to ask my doc's office about it...:cool2::blushing:

What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?
To some this may be a depressing thread, but I do not believe so. I think it represents the strength and determination of those of us on the board. It is really hard being overweight and trying to do something about it, but you failed.:frown:The awesome thing is that we have sought the help we need to get healthy and to re-claim our lives. I know I for one am sick of life passing me by. I hope approval comes through soon!:tongue_smilie:

My insurance required a 5 year weight history and I had to do the same thing with the photos. I had only 3 years of medical history out of that time. It was a major reality check.

What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?
It's the same thing. I was a captain of the dance team in high school, a cheerleader for three years before that. I remember when I could bend and twist myself around like it was nothing. An now it is ajob to tie my shoes.

What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?
For me, it has been putting the weight on yet again after so many times of trying to keep it off. It has been getting to the point where my underwear and bra are tight, not being able to bend over to tie my shoes, etc.:cursing: But the worse has been my little one telling me " Mommy, you are fat!":frown::mad: I know he is only 5 but man that did sting:frown:. So I want to be here for him and my other kids. I want the outside to match the inside. So what's your story?
