I had my 4th fill last week ...thoughts...problems..questions...

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just had my 4th fill last Thursday and now have 4.1 in a 10mm band. I lost another 5 pounds...Woohoo...

I had pretty good restriction, but felt it had been better weeks before so my surgeon but in .4.

My Water went down fine and he even had me gulp it to make sure it would not come up.

I am now past the liquid, mushie and now trying to wat some solids....

That is the problem, I cannot tolerate meat at all. I ate some itty bitty pieces of chicken earlier and it came back up...I even chewed it alot.

so now I'm doing liquids again...

I'm going to give it a few more days before I call my surgeon. I have to drive about 1 1/2 to my drs. office so I really want to make sure I need and unfil before I go in.

Wouldn't I have problems even keeping liquids down to need an unfill.

I figure my band is just being finicky right now....lol

Any comments, ideas?

thanks,

Bren:smile:

Same thing happened with me and my 4th fill. I tried to wait it out, but ultimately went for an unfill. By the end of the 4 days I waited, everything was so swollen, I had to take out so much that now I have LESS than I had before that 4th fill.

I have no idea whether waiting it out will work for you - I hope so. But it sure didn't work for me.

Now that all the swelling as gone down, I have less restriction than I would have had if I just hadn't gotten the fill in the first place, or had gone back the next day and taken out exactly what they put in.

Good luck.

Good restriction is being able to eat normal solid foods, such as chicken and tuna.. you can't live on liquids forever. I will spare you my speech.. Perhaps try some tuna. That might go down better than chicken. Bumblebee has a great lemon pepper tuna that is so moist and awesome.

It sounds like you might be a bit tight but maybe you should give it a few more days before going back. I had to learn to eat smaller bites and more slowly which sounds simple enough but it was hard to remember at times. Also, with more restriction comes more intolerance to some foods. I had to learn the hard way several times not to eat certain things anymore. Best of luck to you!

hey that's me too.

i also noticed that my band get's tighter when i retain Fluid....especially pms time...i had to go back to liquids and soft mushy stage...till my evening meal...my swelling is always better in the evening, and i can eat easier then.

my pms has now passed and i was able to eat pork tenderloin last night..without getting sick.

there will be some things each time that you won't tolerate or won't go well with pms but go well at other unswollen times..

good luck and be gentle with it

I've had 3 fills and it will be about 7months for me as well, but I eat everything, I just have to eat slowly and make sure I chew...I've 64lbs to date. So it's been good for me...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
