:thumbup:Hello, I am new to this web page, and I love all of the information. I was banded on 7/20/05 and have lost almost 60 lbs. I need some new motivation as my weight loss has slowed. I expected all of my weight to just fall off lol!!! However, I see that journaling my food and exercise are key. I am very glad I had the surgery, I just need to get back on track. I had my surgery in Sacramento and I go to Olympia, WA for my fills. Dr. Neal staff is great!

I was banded in March of '07 and I've lost 60lbs, but in the past couple of months I've slowed to a stop....nothing. I was thinking about going in for a fill, but upon reviewing my eating & exercise habits....UH....it's not the band, it's me. I'm more than happy to have a buddy in all of this. I haven't had time to go to my local support meetings, but I do check in here regularly. I am trying to get things back on track...cause one of the gals in my monthly group here says "you had SURGERY for pete's sake!" So I remind myself of that often to motivate me. I really want to drop about 40 more lbs...but I've got to find the discipline I had at the beginning....so I can make it happen. I know that the band won't.

So, chin up....let's stick together in this...we can do it. Have you been for a fill...there's a great link that reviews whether you should do a fill or adjust in some other area of your life. For me, this website has been great for reflecting on ME and my use of the tool.

To fill or not to fill?

Catch ya later!

Annette

I was banded August, 2005. I have lost about 60 pounds. I actually lost more, but gained some back. I haven't been exercising and have been snacking more than I should. I do need a fill, but my next appointment is in November. I have only had one fill and the doc had a difficult time doing it. ( he had to wiggle the needle around a lot to find the right spot) We know what we need to do. We just need to get ourselves back on track.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
