I am so happy for all of you who love your band!! I am looking forward to hopefully loving mine. My surgery date is July 23rd and to say that I am nervous is an understatement but after 2 1/2 yrs of research (mostly on this forum) I feel like I'm ready! I want to thank everyone who have shared their stories because it certainly is encouraging...:thumbup:especially when you hear people say that they are loving their bands and learning how to eat all over again...thank you! thank you! and good luck to everyone...lexy, you hang on in there and great blog!

I love my band too. Iam 5 days post op. My surgeon allows pureed/mushy on day 4. I have found yogurt does NOT sit well with me. It makes me very sick to my stomach. Iam doing my Protein drinks, broths, pureed Soups, baby foods, eggs etc... I got a book from my surgeon packed with recipes for GREAT Protein Drinks. Iam hooked on chocolate banana.

1/2 banana

2 tbs sugar free hershey Syrup

4 ice cubes

1 scoop chocolate Protein

1/2 cup skim milk (I use 1/2%)

hit the smoothie button or puree and man this is good.

Iam 8 1/2 lbs down since last tues.

Iam amazed at how I eat to live and Iam no longer living to eat. This was the best decision ever. Glad I joined the "band".

I love my band. I was a volume eater and it sure helped that. I got the band orginally because of my health. I have liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholestral. I had to make the decision to pull the plug on my Uncle who had the same illnesses I have and was only 63. I was 55 at the time and I have 4 grandchildren I want to see grow up. I no longer have diabetes or high blood pressure. I am taking 11 pills less a day since the lap band. That helps my liver counts, so my liver is getting better. Losing the weight has been the bonus. The lap band has helped me do what I couldn't do on my own. I don't even mind obeying the rules now because the benifits have been so great.:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
