VZGH, (can't remember the whole screen name) my loss is mostly since surgery. It is since my consult. The first 10 came off before my surgery the rest, 65 lbs. are since surgery.

Alli, sorry to hear about your 'girls', but if you have that gene, it's probably a good precautionary step to take. I've had the hysterectomy though and it wasn't too bad. Good luck to you in your decision.

Wow Long, Apples and iteach, you are all Big Losers!!!

Just curious, is that your weight loss since banding or in total? If since banding, what's your secret?

I just finally hit 41 pounds lost since surgery. Really had to work for the last 5 pounds, seemed to have hit a plateau. Went for another fill today and now have 6cc's in my 10cc band. I hope this finally does it! I have had a few episodes of stuck food, no fun at all! Mostly my fault for not slowing down and chewing the food.

In reference to the comment about Hair loss, remember to get those good fats in your diet(olives, almonds, avacado, olive oil, etc.) this will aid in preventing hair loss and brittle nails.

Congrats of your 41# loss. Lots of work and paying attention to your band and what it can do, plus, doing a lot of the work yourself.

As to your question about how much lost after surgery...I lost over 50# b/4 and 52# after being banded.

Congrats on your 70# loss, iteach. Try not to panic about losing some hair...could be just a short term thing but I guess I would discuss this with you doc. He could have some ideas on what to do. I, too, have tons of hair but I would feel like you do and not want to lose any. I wish you lots of luck and hope you can get the needed Protein in your daily diet. :D

Hey everyone! VZGH, my weight loss includes my two week pre-op diet, but I've lost 53 since surgery. I just really listen to my band. When I'm full, I stop. I've thrilled with my success and you should be with yours too...over 40 pounds in 4 or so months. That is awesome!!

Apples and everyone, thanks for the support! I did talk to my doctor and he said I could be losing hair for up to the first 8 months after surgery. He didn't suggest the supplement you all have talked about, but I may look in to it. Where do you purchase it? This board is such a great place to be. It's so nice to be able to "talk" to people who completely understand. Have a great evening everyone!

I got my Biotin at Walmart. It comes in 1000 mcg strength and 5000 I believe. I just got the 1000 and it seemed to help but I think many folks who take it, take the stronger one. Congrats on your success!!

Congrats to all you losers! Do we Jazzy Junebugs rock or what!!!

I have just had another small fill this week and I think I am finally there! Had a 3 lb loss from the last fill (2 weeks ago) and this morning was down another pound! So that means this morning I weigh either the same or less than BF! What a goal! :D (He didn't weigh in this morning so I am not sure where he is). My goal has always been to weigh less than he does. That way he can be my big strong guy and I can be his little damsel. Yea, I know. Gag me. lol

I guess we were all told that this is a journey and it won't happen over night. We have been banded for about 4 months now and seems we are finally seeing some success. They also said the Hair loss would start about now for some of us and it has. My hair is not thick but I haven't seen gobs of it falling out yet and hope it doesn't! Hang in there tho, they have also said it doesn't last and I haven't read of anyone going completely bald because of this!!

Keep the faith, Allie. Sorry to hear about your problems with the girls but its good to know there are preventative solutions. I had my girls reduced about 5 years ago. Seems after menopause they took on a life of their own! lol Got tired of trippin over them so I had reduction and that solved a whole lot of back problems. And you get new boobs out of this? Cool! Can you pick the designer boobs of your choice? I thought maybe Kim Baysinger but nah, I would probably give myself black eyes if I did any jogging! Hang in there and do what ya gotta do. We are here for you.

Good Morning Junies!! So I have an exciting event to share.. I now wear a size 16 pant!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH I am so friggin excited I can't even begin to tell you. The day I was banded I was wearing a size 24 pant!! I notice the pounds aren't coming off as easily the closer I get to goal but I really feel like I am losing inches. I have been trying really hard, had a few setbacks which were all mental but I was so happy when I grabbed 3 pairs of 16's just to see and all three fit!!! You should have seen me doing a happy dance and giggling in the changing room! I wanted to run through the store screaming I am a 16 a friggin 16!! :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Allie, we must be weight twins. As I started about the same as you in a size 24 (did have one 26) and just this week bought my first 16 as well so I can totally relate. I got a pair of Gap jeans. There was no W for womens in them but an R for regular. I started tearing up in the fitting room. My daughter was in a different store so I had no one to Celebrate with. Even tried to call my husband or daughter on my cell phone and had no service in there. But the thought of being able to wear 'Regular' clothes again is mindboggling.

I'm 5'9 and started at 305 and have lost 75 lbs. Are you tall too?

Editing to add: Oh I had DD's too that are now D's and pointing downwards! LOL

Long & Allie ~ I'm right there with you in the jean sizes down from 24 and also gone from DD to D. Unfortunately I prefer Levis and they tend to run small so still in a 18 in those, but other brands a 16 fits! Also went shopping for a new fall coat last night and was so nice to be able to fit in a XL, the coat I had bought last year was a 3X! So much nicer to be able to shop in the Misses department instead of Womens, much more to choose from. Weight loss has slowed, but inches are definitely been coming off.

Me too, I got a new coat last night!! An XL. I tried on the L and the XL. I so wanted to get the L and it fit but I only had on a short sleeve t shirt under it. I knew with a bulky sweater or something it would be tight. It was snug across the shoulders. I had this long debate with myself over which one to get. On the one hand I knew I'd be losing more and the L would fit better. But on the other who knows if I will keep losing this fast and I have a life time of buying things snug as I was going to lose to fit into them and never did. Also I like my coats a little loose anyway. And then I realized I was starting to get too hung up on the size. Other coats I tried on the L would've worked better, but I liked this one and so what if it's an XL it is still a Misses and not a Womens! I need to go through my coats though and get rid of some old ones as Dh says our coat closet is too stuffed and it's mostly mine.

LOL! I had the same long debate too on whether or not I should squeeze into the Large vs. XL! I instead chose the less expensive jacket just in case I need that Large before the end of the season.

Way to go ladies! We are such losers!!:cool2:

I too just bought a pair of 16 pants! And I got them in Petite!!! (I am 5'3"). I just realized how much out of size 18s I am today since I grabbed a pair of blue jeans out of the closet and they have been falling off of me all day! Then I realized, hey I don't have any size 16 jeans and we get to wear jeans on fridays at work, so guess I will have to go buy a pair now!

I tried also to get a top in the petite section but alas, its not happening yet. Still too much belly although its getting smaller. I found a nice top in large and got that too. I tried on the XL but it was hanging off my shoulders.

Keep up the good work gang! We Rock!!:thumbup::frown:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
