Hi Junies,

Its good to read about how well you all are doing. I just updated my ticker and I have lost 5 lbs in the last month!:tt2: Don't know when or where but they are gone! I rarely drop more than 1 at a time, but a few got by me this time. But am I complaining??? HA!

I am off work tomorrow, gonna spend the day moving my furniture to an apartment in town closer to work. That should be a good workout for me. Gonna be cold too!!! I have been busy every night this week packing boxes and haven't been to the gym. I plan to hit that again once I am settled.

I am so inspired by all you in wonderland. I missed that milestone as I got to that during the liquid pre op. stage. But I am about halfway to my goal in 7 months so I am jazzed about that.

Hope you all have a great day and anyone in the neighborhood feel free to come help me move. Bring your own truck!:tt2:

Well, it sounds like everyone is having a good day, how wonderful.

Apples have fun.....you lucky thing you.

VZ, congrats on the call backs, that sure does lift your spirit :tt2:

Long, you probably already have those smoking hot legs, you just can't see it yet. I think we all seem to have on some sort of "fat" glasses that are hard to lose.

OMG!! I ordered 3 new tops, from QVC of course. And the 1X is way to big and the XL fit perfect. I had to pinch myself. Am I really in and XL and size 18 pants? Really?????

I was wearing a size 22 and 2XL tops. It feels really good.

Good morning Junies..

I just have to tell you that as soon as I get to work and grab my coffee the first thing is I jump on here and see how you are all doing! So this morning I was so happy to see some exciting things from you all!

Apples~ have fun! I live 5 minutes from mohegan sun, actually if I step out of my office I can see it from here. Foxwoods is about 7 minutes from me. It's funny when you live near attractions they really don't interest you. I end up just donating my money anyway..lol. I hope you have some fun girl time!

Vz~ I am so excited for you~ I bet you were doing a happy dance. I hope they realize what a great person you are and hire you right then and there. About 5 years ago I got laid off from a job I loved. I thought it was the best job ever and I was devastated. I was on unemployment and just going on the interviews and the one place I didn't want to interview for I thought hey why not get some interview practice. I didn't want to work there at all! It is in a basement, no windows, all men who look like KKK extremists.. all tatooed and shaved heads.. anyway, I interviewed and they offered me $60,000 to start! I was making 13 bucks an hour at my last job! I took the job and guess what looks are deceiving. I love my job sometimes I am frustrated by it but it is a great job! I am still here and no they are not kkk members LOL.. they are just regular guys. So long story short, being laid off brought me to a much better place. I really believe that your perfect job is out there and sooner than later it will find you!

Lucy~ congrats girl on your xl shirts and 18 pants! That is sooo awesome!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

xoxo allie~

Good afternoon! It's Friday!! And we are supposed to have a beautiful weekend weather wise or so I thought, now I am hearing rumblings of snow tonight. But they are saying 60's on Sunday.

We have casinos not too far, in Blackhawk and Central City in the mountains. I've gone about once or twice a year. They had an awesome buffet but guess I won't be visiting that anytime soon. funny how I remember places by the food. No wonder I needed the band.

At work we got new 'work shirts' in today. I didnt' have any before since I just started working there in Dec. so had no idea what size to order. They are mostly either polo type shirts and sweatshirts. So I got larges in the shirts and XL in the hoody sweatshirt. The hoody is huge! I love it! I can't return it though due to the logo being embroidered on, but it will do, I like them big anyway, but the Large probably would've been big. I was so nervous to try on the polo shirts, the gal I work with got XL and I got L's and I still see myself as bigger. I was so relieved they fit and not even snug. I am doing better guessing sizes and then trying on in the stores, but when it comes to ordering off the internet or something I tend to want to go way too big.

Allie, now that DH retired from the Navy are you settled or still on the move? We moved 11 or 12 times I think over the years, but I think we are settled now. At least that is our wish, I have learned to never say never, but we HOPE to never move again. But when I say move I mean leave the state, I am sure we will move houses after DH retires in several more years. I'd like to live in or closer to the mountains, but still close to Denver.

Hi Ladies.........Well, made it home. The drive is usually 1.5 hours but took almost 3. Heavy snow and almost zero visibility. Sucked. I drive a truck so felt safe. Was worth it though cuz we had a great time. Not a big winner but came out about even and played the entire time. BTW...I didn't bet the farm!!!!

Long..I don't miss the buffets at casinos. Waste of money for me now. I just packed some beef Jerky, Fiber One Cereal and Pure Protein bars. Didn't want to wast good gambling time in a cafe.

Worried about DH and DS. They just started out for home for what normally would be a seven hour drive. Thinking that in this crap it will take quite a bit longer.

Strike.........another move...poor thing. We have lived in our house for 21 years. I hate moving but, like Allie stated, it's a good way to organize and down size. This might sound sick to you guys but one of my favorite activities is to clean closets, cupboards, drawers, etc. I find it extremely relaxing and cleansing. My spices and Condiments are even in alph order.

Well, better go pick up my baby (dog) from the neighbors. I feel like a terrible mother. Gone for over 30 days, home 2 and leave him again for over night. I'll make it up to him.

You all have a great weekend. I have a feeling ours will be a snowbound one.

It does seem like a long time away but it would be a great way to get together hit the conference. I was looking into flying to NY for the conference coming up and noticed that Cher has one tentatively scheduled for Oct. I would rather go to one that my Junies would be at. I'm so excited at the thought of meeting all of you....I can't breathe!!!!!

Hey Apples, I'm like you...I like to clean and organize. I need to do a good sweep through my house now.

I teach Family and Consumer Science (Home Ec) and have a very large classroom with 3 kitchens, and sewing area. I make my students clean and organize all the time. When I get going, you should see the look on their poor little faces. But hey, it's good for them!!!!

Lucy...I LOVED Home Ec and still stay in contact with a teacher I once had. I grew up in a home where the only way you could afford clothes was to sew them and as far as I knew there were no cake mixes LOL.!

Good morning Junies..

Well today we are off to go on a tour of Rhode Island College. My daughter was accepted and got a nice merit scholarship so we are off to check it out.

Long.. We were homesteaded in 1996, our oldest daughter has chronic pancreatitis and they wanted her to have continuation of medical care at Yale. So we have been in CT since then. We want to move to like North Carolina in the next couple of years. We are sick to death of cold weather and snow.

All you home eccers..(not a word but ill use it) I am also a cleaning freak. My children call me a cleaning nazi. I guess I can sometimes go overboard. I believe a clean house is a happy house! :tt2:

So tonight we are going to see Jeff Foxworthy at MGM grand at foxwoods. Should be a fun night. We are celebrating my birthday early. I turn 39 (EEK) on the 26th. The funny thing is I plan on being in the best shape of my life in my early 40's!

I will be in AZ in October maybe I can make the conference!

So gorgeous Junies. Have a beautiful productive Saturday!

Hey Allie, have fun tonight and tell her congrats on the scholarship.

Apples, on Valentines day I made popcorn for all of my classes. But I did it on the stove top, shaking the pan back and forth. You would be surprised at how many of them had never seen that done and did not even know you could that. I teach them a lot of cooking from scratch because they need to know that. Next year, I plan to teach them canning ;0)

Have a good weekend everyone

Yum, popcorn on the stove top is my favorite way to make it. Popped in oil with lots of butter and salt on it, it's what put at least half my excess weight on, my major red light food!

I had a great day shopping at Goodwill today. Remember I went last weekend and got some JonesNy capri's? Well they told me that this Sat. everything was 50% off, so I went back to check it out. I got another pair of Jones capris, an Ann Taylor pair and a Liz pair, plus a pair of Dillards dress pants and hubby bought 3 Nordstrom's sport shirts, all for $18.99!! I scored!! Now I just need a swimsuit and tops for my cruise. A few pairs of the pants were snug but I am planning on them fitting by cruise time.

Hey there..

Jeff foxworthy was surprisingly really funny. I usually find him corny but he was hilarious.

She loved Rhode Island College and decided that's the place she wants to go.. whew I am soo happy it's only 45 minutes away!

Lucy.. that sounds sooo fun. I have made lots of freezer jam and never learned to can. I would love to learn since we always have a garden and I end up freezing everything. Would be great to know how. I have canning jars it's the sealing part I am unsure of. I know you boil them but that's about it..lol

Long. congrats on the finds!! I have shopped many times at goodwill since being banded. I also have donated alot of my clothes there!

I hope everyone has a great night. I am off to finish my glass of wine then to bed. Tomorrow is supposed to be snowy and rainy here.. yuck!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
