Your dh/so and loose skin.

How did your dh/so react to the loose skin when you lost? I am concerned it will gross him out too much (I do plan to have plastic surgery eventually). I guess it can't be much grosser than the fat rolls now, but I am still concerned.

You're talking about a man who has found me beautiful through thick and thin---and as high as 304 pounds. I can't even imagine he'd notice the skin. I do know he's supportive and agreed that if I eventually want plastic surgery, we'll find a way to finance it. He just wants ME to feel comfortable. This isn't about how he feels about me. He loves me regardless and I trust your husband feels the same way. Get healthy and then worry about skin. My honey wants me to be around for a long time......

My DH loves me period. We are very honest with each other regarding everything. That includes my weight loss, and yes, skin. I am planning to have PS when I reach 150.(only 29 pounds away). DH is very supportive of that decision. He wants me to look the best I can look. This is primarily for me and how I feel about myself, but I would be lying if I said that it wasn't for him too. He is very physical and appearance is important to him. He is very nice to look at I might add. We began dating in high school, so he knew me at a size 6. He is not discusted by my loose skin. In fact, when I fuss about it, he says, "would you rather it be filled with fat?" Nice point. We can't wait for me to have PS and get rid of my skin. I can't wait to model sexy lingerie for him minus the loose belly skin and with new perky boobs. He is great and would support whatever decision I made. I am a stay at home mom and I am very appreciative that he is willing to pay lots of money for me to look and feel the way I didn't even think was possible a year ago, and now it's happening!!

Fat or skinny, rolls or no rolls, loose skin or tight skin. It boils down to one thing if he loves you he loves you for who and what you are...I cant even imagine thinking my husband would look at me different with saggy skin. The saggy skin shows you worked hard to loose weight and did it!

Love is not about looks its from the heart.

Sorry to preach but I cant understand how people are so worried about what thier husband, wife or others will think.

You are loosing weight and will be healthy thats what is the main concern.

I was worried about this as well. I think I was projecting my own body image issues onto my husband. He loves me and has assured me that no matter what he will love me.

I have discussed PS with him and he left it up to me. I am hoping that I am young enough that after a couple years most of my skin (look at me so optimistic and not even banded yet lol) will be absorbed naturally.

The one thing I'm worried about is my chest... I know i will lose a lot of weight there and picture well never mind I won't gross you out. I have done research on lifts and such and will probably save up for something like that hopefully getting it done when I stay stable at goal for awhile.

I was thinking that since the weight loss is not as fast as by-pass surgery that maybe it would be possible to exercise and keep the skin somewhat tone. Am I totally off base here?

I read some good advice on here that really made sense to me. How much tone your skin maintains has to do with your skin's elasticity. I have been very surprised at how well my skin has done for the most part. Here is what I read...... If you have stretch marks then that skin is stretched out. That skin will not go back to normal. I look at my tummy. On my stomach, my breasts, and my inner thighs I have a lot of stretch marks. It is my understanding that this skin will not tone up. I plan to have ps when I get to my first goal.

Ok, for this husband thing.....You will not find a man who loves and is devoted to his wife more than my dh. It is because of our honesty with each other that I know he is not attracted to my loose skin. He is very attracted to me and very proud of my accomplishments, but I don't think anyone's significant other would just absolutely not notice the skin or if you held up 2 pictures after weight loss. One with the skin and one without, he would say that they look the same to him. If there is a man who wouldn't even notice I have never met him....Furthermore, I am glad my dh notices!! I am glad he wants me to look my best!!

Thanks Ladies. I guess I'm more worried cause I saw one episode of "I Lost It" and the woman had had gastric bypass and her husband was on there saying he was totally grossed out by the hanging skin and he just couldn't be intimate with her because of it. She has PS and looked great and then he was all over her.

I have talked to dh and he knows I will have loose skin and I'll have to have PS. He said as long as I will agree to go back to having big boobs (I've always had huge boobs), he doesn't care. LOL

The guy on "I Lost It" has to be pretty shallow. I take that with a grain of salt. Most DH/SO would never be that low.

Like Renee Zellwegger in the Bridget Jones movies..... my DH calls my loose skin and squishy fat my "wobbly bits". Endearingly of course. He doesn't seem to mind at all. Not at this point anyway.....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
