How Much Have You Lost So Far?

I thought it might be fun to start a thread to report on our weight losses so far. June is half over so we are about half banded. It would be exciting to see and motivating for those yet to be banded. Counting your pre op liquid diet, if you had one until now how much have you lost so far??

For me I started losing as I started researching bariatric surgery and lost 10 lbs by the time I went to my seminar, but from the time of my first consult appt. with my surgeon and now 9 days post op I lost 22 more. For a total of 32 lbs. but not sure if I should call it 32 or 22, either way it's good. And might as well count from my highest! LOL

hi there, i just passed the 30 lb mark today - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 31 lbs down. i did optifast 5 weeks before surgery so this includes that - 17 lbs since surgery on 6/10. this band WORKS just have to have patience!

I got my first fill today.. I have lost 22 lbs since my surgery 4 weeks ago and since I started my weightloss journey.. I have lost 38lbs...

I was banded on June 3, I have lost 43lbs. I had my first fill on July 1, 3cc's then my 2nd fill on July 21, 2cc's. The 2nd fill has been a pretty tight restriction have had a hard time getting anything but liquids, soft foods down. Not getting all my protiens in, feeling pretty tired, pretty excited about the weight loss, hope it continues.

Hi everyone

I have been keeping a speard sheet of my weight loss and since my surgery was on a weds I weigh in every weds. and track the lbs lost.

- 12 lbs on my own between my birthday 2/20 and my first appt 3/28

- 4 between first app 3/28 and pre-op appt. 6/16

- 15 during pre-surgery diet of 8 days (surgery 6/25)

- 4 from surgery to post op 7/3

- 11 post op till first fill 7/28

- 5 current weight

51 total - I can't believe it, I feel great, I saw some pictures of my taken last weekend and I can't believe how much my face has slim. Congratulations to everyone!

I've lost 41 lbs total since preop and post surgery. Banded 6/26. I am stalling right now, but like the idea of a calorie boost day to re-jump start the metabolism. I have already gone down in pant size. Can't wait until my first fill !!!

I've lost 43 pounds as of this morning, so far. I was banded 6/9 and still haven't had my first fill. I'm still deciding if I need one since i'm losing and not hungry unless I don't eat for 4 or 5 hours. Everything is going really well, I'm loving this.

My body seems to be resting at 49 lbs gone. Why can't it rest at a nice round 50??? i want that 50 so bad!! Maybe soon. Heck I am having gall bladder surgery Friday maybe my gall bladder will weigh a pound? I'm not to excited to be facing another surgery so soon (today is my 2 mos bandiversary) but will be glad to have it behind me.

congratulations on 49 lbs!! that is amazing!! we were banded on the same date i think! today is my 2 month band-a-versary too!

i was stuck at 29 and wanted 30 so bad! finally hit it! just barely past it now.

good luck with your gallbladder and all! it's something that hangs over we bandsters who still have ours. will it have to go? when? yours will be gone soon and over with. take care!

I am down 79lbs. I lost 50lbs on my six month pre-op. I am not losing a fast as I did when I first started this. This is to be expected and I stay away from the scale for two weeks at a time.

I get my first fill this afternoon. I could care less if I eat in the morning but make myself eat. By afternoon I am hungry so know I should get a fill. I am not expecting the fill to do anything...don't want to be disappointed. My doc says that it can take up to three or four fills to do the job. Will just see how it goes.

Looks like everyone is doing pretty good. It's a difficult road to take but well worth it. I feel so much better and don't mind fitting into jeans again.

My first fill is doing me wonders.. I am loosing my 2lbs a week and now have lost 42lbs!! I have also found with my fill I can't have any bread products.. I tested the waters and found out really quick.. I am eating a lot less and exercising so much more.. I hardly ever get on here now b/c I am so busy enjoying life!!!

I hope I am back on the loosing train again! I have been having trouble with my Fluid retention again and have another UTI! This is the 6th one since last October! THey are going to do studies to see what the problem can be... maybe kidney stones. (too much high protein) :)

I am feeling better today, got a round of Cipro and Lasix. I can tell a hugh difference in my clothes! I have gone from an 18W pants to a 14W! And from a 1X shirt to a Large shirt, so I know the fat is melting. I just want to scale to talk to me!

Long: good luck on your surgery! I am sorry you have to have another surgery so quickly! It will be good though to get the GB done. Didn't you have to have a scan and check it out before surgery? I did, they said if it was bad they would do both at the same time.

Apples! Glad to hear from you again. I suppose you are still enjoying the lake house. i keep looking at Target thinking that they will have some beach houses or lake houses on clearance.... but no luck! :biggrin2: Looks like the weight is just falling off you! GREAT JOB!

WOW everyone on here has lost a bunch! GREAT JOB! I haven't lost too much, but what I have lost has all been since surgery so I think that is ok!

Take care and have a great day!

Nope Cathy, that is one scan I didn't have. I had psych, pulmonary, cardio, nuclear cardio test, blood work but no scan of that. Someone in chat told me that someone else had their gall bladder out recently and their dr. told them 40% of banders do have them out eventually. But I can't find any info to back that up. Today is my 2 month anniversary of the band so not looking forward to more surgery. But once it's over, lookout!! 100 lbs here I come!! I'm a pound shy of half way there. Though I'll have some more to lose at that point, I've said if I can get that far I will be elated! But I'm going for the goal too.

Sorry to hear of your UTI's and Water retention issues. Hope it gets straightened out.

If you find that clearance sale on lake houses let me know!! I grew up in Wisconsin and both grandparents had 'cottages' on the lake in northern Wisconsin, I so loved going up 'north'.
