NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

Of course just like you all I have experienced the pants getting bigger and tmy shirts being very baggy! I know that 17 lbs. is wonderful to me and not a lot of people can tell anything yet so this was huge for me!

But what has been even bigger for me is the less pain in my knees and ankles! Long story...short....

10 months ago I fell and seriously broke my left ankle (which made me postpone my lap band) -- I had surgery on this break and was litterally on bed rest for 3 months. The other times I was walking with a walker or crutches which put so much pressure on my right leg (extra weight was such a bad thing for this). All this pressure caused me to damage the tendons in my knee and a section of my knee is now bone-on-bone! I looked like a 95 year old since I couldn't walk without limping on both side or stopping every couple of steps since BOTH of my legs had serious issues.

So...these 17 lbs. have made me able to get around better and to be able to do things with my family again. Don't get me wrong -- I still have SOME pain but this is the best I've felt in 10 months!

A from from church asked me if I was on a diet because it looked like I had lost some weight. I am so close to wearing a 16 but 18s are a little big. One of my favorite pants now pulls up to my bra! Not wearing them any more. My hubby is proud and glad we decided to do this for my health and confidence.

15_9_23.gif 36_35_1.gif 12_3_120.gif o.k. got tired of my bras so I dug thru my old ones that I kept. I Threw 1 then another and another over on the bed, thinking there is no way any of them would fit me. To my surprise:ohmy:not only 1 fit, but 3 fit and the best part...they are 2 sizes smaller band size than what I have been wearing!:thumbup:Lucky enough my cup has'nt gotten to small. I have always fluctuated between a c & d. So I had some c cups. Hopefully I won't get smaller than a c.

I can get into my saved size XL's, 14-16W's

An old pair of flipflops fit now, no more feet swelling!!

My knees haven't hurt since surgery, nor back.

NO HEADACHES from all the sweets!!

My periods are regular again.

The best thing so far is at the park with my 4 year daughter and I was able to slide, swing, and even "race" her.... Have NEVER been able to play with her that way. That's one of the biggest reasons I did this. It was a good feeling.

So I've been pretty busy lately, and I hadn't really noticed mush weight loss, but I went back to work a few days ago and people (who don't know about my surgery) all thought I looked amazing! Also, My work pants were super baggy and kept hanging down my butt all night. I'm sure all the guests at the wedding didn't think it was nice, but I sure did! (I'm a banquet waitress at a country club lol) My work shirt was too big so they gave me a womens large and it fit! (I always had to wear a mens large) I can't wait until I need a new tuxedo vest, I still fit into the mens large, but I can't wait to wear a women's vest!

Congratulations everyone!! I had to go buy an outfit for a wedding this weekend. I was sorta dreading it, but I bought a pair of pants that were a size small than I have worn in a LONG time. I also had to throw out some capris that were sagging so bad it was embarrassing!! It felt good to donate them to someone else!!:)

Hey? Where is everybody with their NSV's? I have been sooooooooo busy but I had an NSV today and I wanted to share!!

I had to buy size 22 jeans the last time I bought jeans because my old ones didn't fit. But they were so cute that I wanted to keep them. Well today before I got in the shower I thought, I wonder how far up my thighs those old jeans can come? My 22 jeans are baggy in the bottom. So...I put on the old jeans (tight/stretchy size 20 but fit like an 18)......and they fit!!! They fit better than the last time I could wear them! I can sit, stand, and bend comfortably in them!

Also - I have to buy new pants for work. I usually keep 2 pairs of black slacks but now they are both too big! I have to put safety pins in 1 pair and luckily the other pair is drawstring. Today when I got home, the regular pair I was able to take off without undoing a button or the zipper!! I am happy! This is real important to me because the scale has been stagnant.....hope everyone is doing well!

Haha when I lay down my hip bones jut out and are very hard and protruding now lol. Every woman in my family has always complained about having massive hip bones that jut out and look so strange against their tiny, skinny bodies. Well anytime anyone was ever talking about this I would just laugh and be like, well I don't think I have hip bones. I could never feel or see them but now I can! Yay!

Ah, the simple things like crossing my legs. It's a habit but with more weight to carry, the legs do not want to cross and stay there comfortably. Yesterday in church, I crossed my legs and voila! I can do it again.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
