dr wont schedule me for a fill

Recommended Posts

My doc told me before I was banded that any weight lost before finding restriction would largely be due to me following the diet/exercise program - essentially dieting. So during my first month I did continue to lose weight but was hungry, I lost because I followed the plan. That doesn't mean I should live on a diet forever, I got my first fill on Tuesday and will get my next fill in a month. Each fill should hopefully make it easier until I reach proper restriction. I find it strange that so many aren't getting filled because they 'can' diet and lose. I say if you're hungrier than the meals you're allotted you need a fill...that is why we all got banded.

I think the best idea is to lose on the least amount of fill possible. If you are losing on the plan you were given without much of a struggle, I'm not sure you need a fill. If you start to feel hungry while you are sticking to the plan, or start to not stick to the plan, then you probably need a fill.

Hi Jack..I love reading your responses to people and always wanting to ask you things..but of course always learking in the back ground, so now I will. I agree with you about learning when you are hungry and not hungry. But I am hungry all the time, I don't get it??? I have a 10cc band, on the 21st of May I was filled to 5cc's for the first time and felt no restrictions. Well, basically I can eat the way I was eating before my fill, not at all near what I could eat prior to surgery. The thing is I struggle with this demon addiction everyday and the mental part is so dam hard!!! My stomach seems to be growling all the time and instead of eating I will try to down some Water, and thats another thing. Water, I can definitely guzzle down a 16oz bottle with no problem and STILL feel hungry. I kow, I know water passes through us like nothing. So , what am I doing wrong?

I started this journey at 287's and I am now 256...so I don't know, am I expecting too much from this band and not using it properly? I am not really excercising except getting out and strolling my daughter around. Its hard to get to the gym right now since my husband is deployed and I really don't know anyone who can watch my daughter. Thank god he returns next week..I can't wait to work out. I don't know...I hate this crazy addiction called food. Go figure I also went to culinary school and it is the hardest thing in the world to LOVE food and have to fight to keep it a bay. Geez...I feel so defeated!!!

Maybe I didn't ask a question per say but it sure felt good to vent. Thanks Jack!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
