Good morning, slept til 530 this morning! I think I am getting close to getting over this jet lag. Just in time to spring forward this weekend. However, I love it when we switch to daylight savings time. I love the extra daylight in the evenings and the fact it signals to me spring is springing! Looks beautiful out today bright and sunny, supposed to be 50's today and 60's tomorrow! I know that sounds cold to the FL, AZ and CA gals but I'm loving it!

Taking Grandma shopping today, I uploaded all my photos to print at costco. I just can't get into this digital age, I like having the prints. I think it's going to be close to $40 though, UGH! And the shoes I bought to go with my dress for the wedding don't look right so have those to take back and hopefully find another pair. I do have a backup old pair at home if I don't find something but would like something new but htey have to be flat as the dress would be too short otherwise. I hate never being able to find pants and dresses long enough. I am too tall for regulars and if I can find talls usually I am too short for them.

My latest fill seems to be doing it for me. I really like where I am at now, I do have an appt for another small one and will keep it as it's 3 weeks from now but if I continue like I am I will cancel it. Right now it strikes the balance between great restriction and not too tight.

Janet, I got the Coach coupon too, so tempting but I must resist this time. You and PHyl have a wonderful time today!

Apples, how ya doing today? Thinking of you

Laura, forgot to mention I love the new pic.

Arelene, good luck at doc's today.

I wrote on Meredith's wall on Facebook: "Hello?! <echo echo echo? Hellooooooooooooo?! <echo echo echo> Dang, where is Meredith?! I miss her smile. : )"

From Meredith on:

"Oh Laura! I am so sorry! We moved, the Internet took a few days to get set up and then the computer crashed! Im using Andrews now! Ugh! I miss you guys! Tell everyone hello for me. I should be back on tomorrow"

Just a little FYI for those who had been wondering lately. : )

It's raining like crazy here! Our pool is just about to overflow. Had tornado warnings yesterday and last night. Miserable.

I've decided to go visit my Dad for Easter. Nels' has a long weekend (Fri- Tues) actually. Most schools have a full spring break, but we don't. : ( Anyway, both mom and dad were really excited. I know mom will have fun getting ready for the "Easter Bunny". I can't believe it will be a month since they were here- when we go! Time is flying. After we told them we were coming (DH is on call that weekend)- Mom sent me the saddest email, how stressed out she is and how hard it's been. Just broke my heart. But also sealed the deal on how glad I am we are going.

I need to get the morning going. I will CBL. peas.

Glad you are going home for Easter !!!! Being a caregiver is very hard and stressful - I know I have been there - She needs the support of the family - So glad that you are able to be there for her...

Peas.......I love your profile pic. You look like a teenager. So cute!

Apples, I will be thinking of you today.

Okay, peeps, I am off to PT and Dr. Davis. This begins a new phase of my journey.

You know my friend that dissed me.....the one that had bypass and lost 120........she has a mass in her pelvis. I am sure I will be taking her to a specialist because she does not drive in Houston. I really feel sorry for her. She is so scared. They did a BRAC analysis and a CA-125. No results yet. I am gonna ask Dr. Davis today if he would direct her to the right specialist.

Later! will give y'all the scoop when I get back.

Charlene - can't wait to hear what happens w/Dr D today..

Hugs on your friend - hopefully it's just a fibro.. Prayers

Great Glad your fill is working... As to talls being to long (not you being to short ;0) that's why they make tailor :0) #1 rule on not what to wear - if it's too long you can hem it :0)

I doubt I will get a new purse - but have to look ;0)

Good Morning...

Got a good night's sleep. Slept the whole night through. And, Janet, was not up eating oatmeal so could not have an early morning visit with you. I feel somewhat refreshed.

Arlene...good luck at the doc and in your new plan. Hope this is something you are able to grab onto and that it works for you. Sorry to hear about your friend. So nice that you are there for her at this difficult time and hope her test results are negative.

Laura...your visit to your parents will give your mother something to focus on. She will be prepping an Easter basket for Nels and meals, etc. that will take her mind off her daily caregiver routine. You are a good daughter. Thank you for the update on Meredeith. I miss her posts and her spunky personality. MEREDITH...can you hear me? Come back!!!!

Great...try to blow some of that warm weather and sunshine up North. We have had rain and fog for the last 5 days. Just plain dreary. Just adds to the funk I am in.

As far as shoes for your MOB dress...there are so many cute little ballet slipper type shoes out there this spring. I've seen every color and fabric. Even silky black ones. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for. Wish I could be with you for the day and shop with you. I am doing a overnight trip with a friend of mine in a couple of weeks to help her find a MOB dress. She's drawing a blank with what she wants and color. I was trying to explain yours to her. Would you mind sending me the designer name? Maybe I can find one online so she can see it. I am one that would choose separates over a dress. I am short-waisted and long-legged. Can buy tops in petite and bottoms in talls.

Not too much going on here today and very few plans for the weekend. Going to head out tomorrow to get some building supplies for a table DS is making for our new deck at the lake place. He made me one for our new patio at home out of ceramic tile and metal. Ppl are always wondering where we got it and want to buy it off of us. This deck extension DS and DH are building is really cool. I have one that they built 7 yrs ago on the lake place now. It's 14x20 and not big enough with all the entertaining we like to do. The extension is 24x24 and has a fire pit in the middle. Has bent metal railing. Actually, both are made out of the frame of stripped down mobile homes and are painted black. Made out of expanded metal so just a rinse with the hose when needed. Lucky to have both DH and DS be innovative and talented welders to be able to come up with the idea. Both decks are portable and on wheels. Fold up for travel and have electric jacks to level them out. I'll post a photo when complete and in place.

I have been at a HUGE standstill the last week and have not accomplished crap. I start a project and don't finish it. I did get some organizing done but have a couple of rooms ripped apart and not completed....not like me. Gotta force myself to get going and get on with things. And, I am not dressing in a sloppy sweatsuit today. I'm going to put on my nice jeans and sweater and pretend like I'm cute. That should make me feel better.

And, again, I need to mention how special you guys are to me and how much your support has meant. It's helped tremendously! Now I just need to work on helping myself out of a funk and be me again.

Great...a couple of ideas where to look for shoes. Zappos.com has EVERYTHNG and in every style. There is a dressy and oh-so-comfy shoe that I have bought in stores and order online. Azure is the brand name. Not sure what they have for flats (and tend to be a little spendy). But, worth it because you can slip them on and not even have to break them in....just a thought

Apples, the brand of my dress/seperates is Andrea Pappell or something like that and I will post a pic. Thanks for the shoe suggestions. Wish you could go shopping with me too! I was chatting with Janet on Facebook earlier and telling her how I feel I missed out on so much when I couldn't make Florida. Llike I missed out on some serious bonding time.

Great...thanks for the info and the photo of your dress.

I KNEW it was tough on you not to make the trip to FL. Yes, we bonded and had a very nice time. Visited, ate, visted, ate. Had a wonderful time. But, I have to tell you...We ALREADY knew each other and I don't think there were any surprises. You would have fit right in and walked away after the weekend feeling like you just had a visit with a long-time friend. Don't feel bad, Lori. There will be other get-togethers. Each and every one of us was sitting at that condo wishing you could have made your flight. Guess the point I am trying to make is it was just like the visiting we do online with the advantage of seeing everyone in person.

I do like your Vegas idea. So much to do and great places to meet and eat, etc.

Hi everyone...wanted to give you all an update: Am home and resting comfortably now!! Thanks for all your support and wishes....before hand...they really did help me through this!!!

So....Surgery was over Tuesday afternoon and needed to stay an extra day in hospital but now home resting comfortably.

The procedure started off real easy and predictable....until after surgery.when I began to suck on ice chips..I started throwing up and feeling really nauseaus.......

Every two hours when the nurses got me up to walk I would get naseus and throw up; That lasted all night until I was wretching up just the ice chip Water.< /span>

In the AM they did a barium swallow and saw that I was obstructed probably from all the wretching. So...right then and there...the surgeon came in and took out the fill from the band and I emmedietely felt better. Apparently this happens..so now I am only aloud liquid diet and this will last till next Wednesday. My blood pressure was high and so I needed to stay another night in the hospital...and this really annoyed me...as every two hours they wake you and make you walk the hallways. lol

Since coming home Thursday AM. I feel okay..lots of gas but only in the lower abdomen. Ive been walking it off or at least trying. Last night was hard. I kept waking up from gas pains and walking the outside apt hallway. Probably woke the whole building.

Havent filled my pain killer script as im really not in pain. Just gassy and tired from being poked and prodded and given this anti naseau med and that one...etc etc. WOW what an experience. I hope that everyone else has had an easier time....

All in all it really wasnt awful...just alot uncomfortable!

Well...must go now....as im pretty tired.

Jodi...thanks for the update and so good to hear from you. Sorry your for your setbacks after surgery. I am wondering if your issues could not be attributed to the anesthesia? That sometimes happens.

Take care of yourself and post when you are up to it. Sending healing throughts your way.

Just popping in to say hi. I need to try out after this monsoon this all day!

Jodi~ Glad you are home and resting. Congrats on surgery being over!

At Walmart they had the Danskin bootleg yoga pants on clearance! I got them for $4.99 each. I like them as much as the Target ones. DH calls them my "uniform" as I seem to live in them these days. Black on black. : )

Hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend! DH is on call Fri, Sat and Sun. Looks like it is me and the boy to fend for ourselves. Gonna take him to Welcome to Go van Gogh

tomorrow for something different. It's an interactive art studio where you can paint ceramics. Nels just LOVES painting stuff!

Will CBL girlies! peasout.. Laura

PS I was 218 this morning! Not sure if it's for sure though, so will wait a day or so to change ticker. : )

I'm glad you're feeling better, Apples. Don't worry about your projects; they'll get done eventually!

Jodi, I'm sorry to hear you had a tough time with surgery. Hope you're on the mend now.

I had a good food day today. Tonight I'm going to hear my husband's band play in a local bar. I'll probably eat their chili for dinner...about the only thing they have that I can eat.

Jodi - welcome to the banded ladies. So sorry you had a difficult time.

Apples - good that you slept last night. Will allow you to think clearly.

I spent the afternoon helping GD with her bookkeeping for her salon. She is only 23 and I'm so proud of her. So sweet and appreciative of my help.

Gizmo spent the day at the groomer - so Mom's day out for me. He is a malti-poo and very affectionate. My buddy.

Gloomy and cold in K.C. But spring buds are pushing thru the very cold earth.

Hi Janet and everyone

I am alomost one month into the pre approval process for a Lap Band. I attended my first seminar last night, I have had two visits via phone with my dietician that I must meet with for 6 months. I have an appointment with the surgeon next wednesday. AND I AM SUPER EXCITED

I have been researching and thinking about the band for almost 5 years and now I am more than ready to make that commitment.

I am so tired of being sick and tired. I feel miserable most of the time. I ache all over. I cant tie my shoes easily. I have sleep apnea, I have pre diabetes. I have metabolic syndrome. I have high cholesterol. I want to feel good. Im only 40. And I feel much much older.

I want buddies to help me through this. I am the only large person in my family and that is very hard sometimes.

Anyone else feel that way?

Peas......congrats on the weight loss!

Jodi.....glad you made it home and are resting. Keep up your walking. It really helps the healing.

Okay, I went to see Dr. Davis. I will start on the 23rd. It will be every Tues. for 2 hrs. I will be going through the Beck book and nutrition. I didn't say anything to him, but is feel like I am doing this assbackwards. I should have done this before the band. OH, well, so be it. He examined me and when he pressed on my colon I almost came off the table. He wonders if I have diverticulitis. i don't have any symptoms, but he suggested a ct scan. Boo! I hate drinking that crap! I didn't hurt until he pressed on my abdomen. Anyway, you know what I know. I will be seeing him once a month too. I don't know what is going on , but I have another good friend that was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. She was on the eliptical and her jaws started hurting. She went to a cardiologist and did a stress test. She is scheduled for a heart cath on tuesday and they will put in stints if needed. Wow! So, if you get weird pain up your jaws or serious indigestion......don't ignore it.

Apples, I hope you are better today......HUGS!

Janet, did your headache go away?

Mishay.....welcome!

I hope all of you have a great weekend!

I felt that way in the begining that is what started me on my journey now 20 months later and I feel great. Still have more to go but I feel much better than I did at the begining. I think all of us totally understand how you feel right now. welcome to the board and ask anything you want to know.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
