Ellen,

I've already emailed you but wanted to wish you best wishes for speedy recovery here as well. I still can't believe it's you after all this time! We'll have to reunite and go to a dr. Phil show. HA HA!!

Janet,

You said you had to take more Vitamins because you are bruising?? Just curious as I have a bruise that is taking forever to go away. Guess I'll look for some healthy fats to add. I figured I got enough in my meats and stuff.

Lori - I was really good at take my Vitamins at first - but I haven't been lately.. Between the gym getting in and out of the machines - my trip to Vegas in the puddle jumper and who knowns what else - I have 2 bruise on my knee - one on my boob that I noticed this morning - don't ask me how I got that - one on my arm.. I took my vitimans last night and will take them tonight - I just don't like the chewables... Baratric advantage does have the kind you swallow - but you gotta take 6 a day - I am not a big pill taker - so 6 in a day would be too much - I want 1 little pill - I don't think I am asking too much

I use a little can't beleive it's not butter in my veggies or rice - but mostly the spray - but I cook my fish in Evoo (olive oil) so I do get my fat - Like i said before I could be Paula Dean's & Emeril's sister.... The more fat the better - Well uses to be - but I gotta say I miss it.. popcorn at the show drowned it in butter/oil that they use - I would get sorta sick from it.. Well now I use the pam butter spray since WW doesn't make theirs anymore...

Ellen, good luck and you will do just fine. Janet you could be me with the way you used to eat. I can really relate to that popcorn and butter issue. Even when I was on WW, the one thing I allowed extra points for was show night with popcorn. I will eat more veggies, just trying to figure all of this out. Today I had Decaf coffee, Protein smoothie made with yogurt and fruit, lunch was a full ham and cheese sandwich with a Tomato slice on it and on light wheat bread, plus a string cheese. Supper was half baked potato and a salad. Tonight I was hungry so I had pudding. I only had one unjury today and no bullet so maybe didn't get all of my Protein in. Anyway have continued to walk 1.2 miles every day with a very steep hill. As I loose weight more I hope to walk more. talk to you all tomorrow. Big storm outside. Gotta get off this.

Becky

Like I always say - we are more alike than we are different - it's just that we think we are alone in our addiction to food but we arent...

You did good - except I would suggest hard protein with your dinner - do you like fish??? I am a big fish eater - tonite scallops in a little evoo & butter with garlic over 1/2 c rice and spinach...

In fact it's ready and I am beat - been up since 4 and my trainer kicked my butt... so I gotta go eat and get to bed.

Be safe in your storm -- Talk to you tomorrow... Hugs

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Tina. I was banded on Feb. 11 and have lost very slowly. I have had 3 fills.

Thanks so much for the menu. It is very helpful. I have a question. How much meat do you use in the One Pot Wonder?

Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Tina - Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - but I was busy at work today and didn't ck in.

I would say 3/4 of the package of ground turkey and a small head of cabbage - I really don't measure to much on my one pot wonders - I am using very healthy ingrediant and it will be lunch for at least 5 days (about 1 cup each) so I guesstimate 200 cal per serving.. I eyeball it truly..

If i use chicken - again it's eye ball..

If there is anything else you need just ask - am here for you - this is hard but worth the work..

Hello - I'm new to this but have been reading everything I can. One question I have is how soon can I travel after surgury? I travel for work and have arranged to be home for 2 weeks post surgury (on 7/24). But will need to travel on or around 8/6. Any issues with that?

Thanks in advance for the response!

Katarina

I need some support. I just got banded yesterday 7-22, I was told to drink 1/2 gallon of liquid over the day. Can I drink more than 1/4- 1/2 cup at a time? Any feedback for the day would be helpful.

Other than that feeling good. Trying to keep up walking around the house.

Sounds like you are at your sweet spot!! A great place to be. You want to be able to eat the quantities you are eating and enjoy the process of losing weight. You will continue to lose weight as you eat right. When you start noticing you need more food in less time apart, then you want to think about getting a fill. I am doing much better and hopefully will be at my sweet spot soon!!

Hi Katrina,

You should be good to travel after surgery although every one is different. My friend started her traveling the weekend of her surgery. She had surgery on Friday, went to a graduation Friday evening, then traveled to another graduation Saturday evening that was about an hour away. The Saturday graduation kept her moving for about 4 hours. She was tired and wore out, but she felt good. After two weeks, if you do well after surgery you should be fine. I was sick for two weeks after my surgery, but I was able to travel. Just remember you will need to rest as much as you can in your down times. It helps a lot.

Indiogirl55,

I like my food a little spicy so here is what I do in a one pot wonder (great name for the recipies).

chicken, yellow & green squash, onions, bells, mushrooms (I like the mushrooms from a can), Tomato sauce, chicken or ground turkey, and red pepper. I cook everything the same way you do, but the red pepper gives me the spice I like.

I do a Breakfast one that is good also:

Turkey sasuage, onions, spinach, greated cheese, frozen chopped hashbrowns, one carton of egg beaters. Cook the turkey sasuage and onions together. Spray a square pan. Stir together all the ingredient, pour in a pan and bake at 350. If you like a little kick add hot sauce or red pepper to the mixture or top with hot sauce aftere it is baked. Cut into small squares and you have Breakfast on the go.

How 'bout baking the breakfast 1-pot wonder in a muffin tin. Sounds like that may make a good serving size and easy to store in the fridge or freezer. This could also help out my DH as he is always looking for breakfasts he can fix in a hurry. He leaves the house very early (and lets me sleep...).

Question for Katarina - will you be driving or flying? I wonder if altitude and pressurizing the cabin of an airplane is a consideration... Question for your doctor?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
