However, they don't suck you in a whole lot. I like them really for the fact that they smooth out what's there. (If that makes sense to you.) I am pre-op though, so I'm hoping as the weight comes off they'll be able to help me keep the gut sucked in a little bit.

I can also tell you they are 1,000% more comfortable than anything else like that I've tried. (And work just as well.)

I hear great things about them...I am going to get some but it seems hot for summer in AZ....I think it helps with support of that extra gut if you know what I mean...the apron.....so until plastics as I loose maybe???

I think the point is not so much to suck you in to change your size as to smooth you out? I have one or two garments like Spanx that are invaluable under a few things I have, one very light pair of dress pants that show terrible VPL, highlight cellulite etc. They fit me, I dont need to be sucked in to wear them but the fabric is light and flimsy - also a jersey dress. You cant wear regular underwear becuase of VPL. And the only think that looks tackier than VPL is VPL from a g-string, ergh, so that's not the answer.

They're actually not too bad to wear here during the summer. Now, if you're going to be outside all day then I wouldn't wear it. I did all the time under my work uniform and whenever I went out. The only time I was ever really miserable were the days when I was outside for more than 30 minutes and it was 118 and the storms were building up so it was humid. (Well, humid for us!lol)

And yeah, they do suck you in a TINY bit, but they're more for smoothing you out. (PERFECT for that evil VPL and cellulite ook!!!)

I love mine because NO MORE WEDGIES! I get horrible wedgies from regular underwear, even if I buy it a size too big for me. My fat butt just sucks that material right in like a black hole.

Plus, they get cleaner in the wash.

I bought 2 pair of Spanx at Lane Bryant...one pair were like shorts the other were capri length. They do smooth, but I don't need smoothing...I need sucking in! When I wear a cute dress, I need tummy control. Spanx just don't do it for me!

Thanks all for your replies...I might have to agree with SamieTeacher. I need sucking in, not smoothing out.

Thanks though!!

When I have something that sucks me in too much, I feel ill after a while. I use them to smooth me out to look better under things.

I love them too, they smooth me out especially in white so that my legs don't look like mashed potatoes. They also give me a little tummy control which it never hurts to have. I just wish I can find a shorter pair for my petite frame. The regular short ones fit me like capri's.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
