princess_n_thep:

THESE PICTURES ARE 12 DAYS POST OP!

Both pictures show the very minmal scars/incisions. The bruising I had was very minimal. The brown/yellow rings you see around the actual incisions is NOT bruising but is the leftover "superglue" still. I take a shower EVERY day and wash them but they are slow to come off. From what I gather, they "glue" the incisions, let that dry, then put a "coating of glue" over and around the incisions again. The scab had just fallen off on the top incision so it is a little pink, my bra had scuffed it off. The only real bruising i got was the one top of the belly button. The one that was the most sore was the longer port incision.

I am VERY happy with the size of them and the expertise in the cut! I know that I am a fast healer but I expect that I would be hard pressed to find the smaller ones in 6 months. I will just keep posting updates on this thread as I go along. I plan to take another picture at 6-8 weeks post op, another at 6 mo, then another at a year.

ENJOY MY BELLY!!!!!!!!

Here are my scars - Day 7 (I took this on Monday)... there is actually still some like gummy tape residue on some of the scars... I can't get the crap off.. oh well.. I'm sure it will eventually wash off. There is also one little teenie scar further up that I didnt' realize my hubby cut off in the picture as it's under my sweater but its the smallest one and completely healed and not noticeable.. I feel weird posting my stretchmarked belly, which, let me tell you, the picture MAGNIFIES stretchmarks.. lol The port scar looks really huge, but it's just shy of 2 inches. ( And thanks to Losingjusme for resizing this for me!! love ya girl! )

You are healing up so nicely - and only on day 7!!! Check me out (i'm above you). I still look like someone who belongs on CSI!

Thank you! I'll probably take another picture for day 14 and put them side by side or something. I had the steri strips too.. the only thing that sucks about them is getting them off... I took this pic right after I had gotten the last bit of the steri strip off in the shower... they bugged the heck out of me and that glue.. ICK. I still have pieces of it on me that I can't get off! I can't wait to see yours after you get all that off

heres my scars like 2.5 months post op

March2120082.jpg

First photo was a couple days post-op (heh, please excuse the half boob and the bad taken-from-my-computer quality).

Second photo was tonight, 7 weeks out, taken by my boyfriend.

The bruising below the port scar in the second pic is from my first fill this past Wednesday.

Thanks everyone for all these pictures. I saw someone with staples. It was in 2005. I was wondering if that's still the norm or is it mostly sutures now?

i had staples in mine and i just got it done it jan, its totally up to ur surgeon, my doc said its the easiest and safest way when it comes to healing but i guess u just gotta ask him/her. and they didnt hurt at all, even when they pulled em out.

My Dr actually used surgical glue to close me up. I am very please that I had no external stitches. I think it really help decrease the scarring. Ironically, I just had a tummy tuck and my PS used the same method. cut from hip to hip and not one external stitch. Its healing nicely.

Will that arnica montana work on old scars?

arnica montana is for the bruising after the surgery. I used it and had wonderful results. scar gels/creams with aloe vera are great for the following months as you heal to help keep the scar from raising.
