Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Recommended Posts

I've been scheduled for May 9th for weeks. The surgical coordinator called me today and said that my Doctor is receiving some stupid award in California on the 9th and can't do it then. Now, I'll either be the 8th or the 16th. I'll know whenever she calls me back. He doesn't usually do lap bands on Thursdays (the 8th) but she is going to ask him.

This all ticks me off because my fiance, mom and dad have all already arranged to have work off on the 9th.

So irritating.

I'll let the boards know when I find out my new date.

Hang in there Nicole!

Think of it like this.. there are a ton of people just trying to get approval who would love to be in your shoes! I know it stinks, though! :glare:

I know... I feel bad now. I remember what hell it was when I was waiting for approval and it's stupid of me to complain over such things.

Surgeon moved me to May the 8th now... A day sooner. It's just a pain because my mom, dad, and fiance had all scheduled off the 9th. My fiance JUST started a new job last week and he had to request off the 9th during his interview... lol... ah well, I'm sure they'll understand. Sorry for ranting...

I think the most apalling thing is that I could simply not wait another week :Dancing_biggrin:

I know what you mean... about possibly getting put off. I have tried so hard not to get my hopes up that my insurance will approve me on the 1st try but the coordinator seemed so positive on Monday that it's hard not to. Don't feel bad, though, about having been upset about them moving your date... I was just trying to give you that "other perspective" to help you over the hump, not make you feel bad! :blushing: Glad it all turned out okay!

If you're coordinator is positive then let go of those frustrations

In any case, if memory serves me correctly, you'll know by Friday according to the SC, right? Please be sure to update us

How wonderful to know that the surgeon doing surgery on you is getting an award! Also, I firmly believe that their is a reason for everything. Try to have peace that your are supposed to have surgery on the 8th. My surgery is May 27th. Good luck to us both! Good luck to us all!

Thanks for your kind words!!! :crying: I'm good with it now, it just had me in a tizzy that day to make sure all of my people can get off work.

Now it's just back to insane nervousness about the actual surgery

Well, I wasn't sure where to put this post and then thought that GRRrrr... seems to sum it all up! :rolleyes2:

No word from the surgeon's office today. I guess it would really be too early to hear anything yet but I am on pins and needles. DH tells me, now if they say no, don't cry because it's not no, it's just not now...and it's not never, it's just when. What a sweet guy!

HOWEVER, I am going insane with the wait. Not only that but I started on the preop diet today (like she told me to) and we had no food in the house. DH won't let me go to the grocery store until tomorrow so I scraped by -- although barely. Was a little irritable but not too bad.. didn't have the desire to really cheat. In fact, (patting myself on the back) DD made mashed potatoes with our supper and forgot to leave the butter out of mine so I made a baked potato and used FF dressing on it. Back in the day, I would have said, it's just a little butter.. what could it hurt? But I kept with it. Got in 6 glasses of Water today AND not a single coke.

You know when it hit me, though... when I got up to go to work. I work from home and start work at 11 p.m. Hadn't realized until now how hard the little "wake up" snacking was going to be. I am going to have to come up with something for that. Is anyone else that way? Like, everytime I wake up from a nap or sleep (other than 1st thing in the morning) I want something sweet to eat. Probably just a habit more than anything. First time all day, though, that I had momentary panic of not being able to eat.

Alright, I guess I'll get to work now. I just wanted to work through this 1st mini-crisis and have you all praying that maybe I'll get the phone call tomorrow. What a TGIF that would be! :tt1:

I'll get my date the 1st of next week...and it will be in May, for sure! :w00t:

YEA Southern MISSY!!!

I'm getting nervous alittle now. They moved my date up but said someone else will call for the actual time and another pre-op visit date with my surgeon...well, that was last Thrusday. I may call Monday for peace of mind.

I would definitely call! If I hadn't called yesterday, it probably wouldn't have been filed yesterday -- but I called, then she did it, and I was!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
