Thank all for the nice comments. There is no secret. The High point for me was 378lb was back in 2004. My wife and I went to a health class for a year and I lost 100lbs. Then the teacher left and the new one, well, was no good. Anyway, I gained 60lb back, since. (Again:mad2:) So actually when I started 6 weeks ago preparing for the LB, I was 346lb. First he put me on an Atkins diet. Week 1 - lost 14lb. Week 2 - lost 5lb. Week 3 - lost 1lb. Week 4 lost 0lb. Then came the fun (not) liquid diet. Week 5 - lost 10lb. and Week 6 (which ended today) - lost 8lb. Making it a total of 38lb. I was walking on my tread mill 2 miles, but after I started this Atkins diet, I had to cut it down to 1 mile. Then after last Thursdays 1 mile walk, I quit. I finished light headed and my pulse was really racing. Everyone around me keeps asking. "Are you nervous?". No, just ready. I'm tired of the roller coaster ride. Especially when it's getting higher and higher. So tomorrow, May 28th, bring it on!!!!!!!!. By the way. This is crazy. They want me there it 5:15 in the morning, surgery is at 7:30am.

bama belle....It will be here soon I promise! I can't believe how fast this week went for me so......

Prayers to everyone and Lets Get it done!

got a call from my doctor said I go the 29th of may.Its been a real fast process for me started in mid March and already getting the band Thursday.Must have a horseshoe somewhere!!!

Great news! Good Luck!

Well it's been 24 hours since my surgery. When I woke up, the gas pain for about one and half hours was a killer. They said it would pass, and it did, but I was not ready for that. Then they tell me that men get it more than women. Any way, all and all it was a ruff day, but I got through it. Today, much better. Everything is just tender.

The best part is that "I did it". A new chapter. It puts a smile on my face.:wink2:

Congratulations everyone on your band. I was just recently banded on May 27th and because of all the wonderful advice that I received on this site, I faired through it pretty well. No gas pain, minimal port/incision pain. On a scale of 0-10, 10 being the most painful, I have been at a 1-2 throughtout these past 3 days. I think walking, gas x, heating pads, liquid diet, positive mindset, and being physically ready(as much as possible) has helped me go through this ordeal with very good results so far. Again, congratulations to all of you and thank you all for your advice and coming back to lapbandtalk to write about your experiences - it's has helped me tremendously.

Just got back from the hospital. Was banded yesterday. Sore, but no gas pains. Kinda weird when I drink something, lol. I'm so glad I did this - Brenda

Hey everyone! How are you doing May 29ths?? I got banded yesterday too!! I spent the night in the hospital and got home today around noon. I'm pretty sore, and itchy, but I don't have much gas pain. Thanks for all the support! Congrats to everyone!!!

Any one else get there band today... May 30th? I can't believe it's over!!!! I'm actually feeling pretty good so far!

Congrats Paige!!!! I've been banded for about 36 hours now, I don't have much gas pain, just soreness and itchyness!!!! I know I can't believe that our days have finally come and gone!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Congrats to all the new banders!!! I am so happy to hear that you have all come through with flying colors! High five and best wishes to you all on the beginning of your new lives. Becky
