I'm a bridesmaid in Sept. What measurements to give now?

Hi all -

I need some advice:

I was banded Sept. 25th, have lost about 25 lbs so far and am due for my first fill this Wednesday.

No one in my family knows about this surgery except dh and dear old Mom. My brother is getting married in the fall and I'm in the wedding party. I have to give the dressmaker my measurements now for the dress that I won't wear till Sept.

I'm thinking I'll lose around 30 lbs. by then. Is this realistic? I was about that weight last Sept. So maybe I should try to determine measurements through my old clothes?

How to know what weight/size I will be????

Thanks for your thoughts!

Do you think it would be safer to just give them your measurements as you are now? (maybe less 1 inch) and then deal with alterations the week of the wedding? I know my bridesmaids (all out of towners) all had to have alterations done the week of the wedding. I would expect that most dressmakers expect this.

Hey sneeka!!

My brother is also getting married but in July and i was actually wondering the same thing! When should i give the measurments for the dress? One month before? God lord! Pehehe! Maybe make the dress slightly tight and hopefully it should be just a bit loose for the wedding???

I just got the band so i have no idea how much i will loose and how fast.

Good luck!!! At least the good news is that you will loose and not put on weight for the wedding! Sorry for not being too helpful!

I guess I'll just go a little tighter and deal w/ alterations down the line...
