Met the with my sergeon today..

I'm a little dissapointed, because he thinks i'm on the verge and that my insur. (the dreaded Cigna) might not approve me.. My BMI is right on the edge of being able to get coverage (40.1) ..and I don't have any co-morbidities(sp?) ..

I just made an apointment to do a sleep test for apnea ..and that isn't until May 21st! ..So if it turns out I don't have that.. I feel like I should just give up.

Why do they make this so darn hard!!

Thanks for letting me vent...

Just make a couple of doctors appointments in the mean time and make sure to put rocks in your pockets, and wear wet jeans.

All kidding aside, stick with it and be strong! If it's meant to be, it will be!

You can get Cigna's position on bariatric surgery right from cigna.com. Read it carefully. If they say they'll cover people with BMI over 40 and yours is 40.1, I recommend you fight tooth & nail to get them to stick it.

I used to work for Cigna. Left there for better insurance.

Good luck to you!

I would fight that for sure... That and maybe find a surgeon thats more on your side. They have a hard number of 40 and being 40.1 means you're eligible.

I would be at the doctor every week being weighed with quarters and keys and u name it..

Do you own combat boots? those are pretty heavy haha.

Celtic you and I are in the same insurance boat btw... mine was submitted on 4/2 for auth.

Good luck, Brandy!

I called my insurance today and was told that they don't require pre-authorization. I then called the surgeon's office to tell them this, and they said it does require pre-authorization. Sheesh.

I guess I just need to be a little bit patient.
