:confused:For those of you who were on CPAP for a significant time before surgery, were you able to come off CPAP and, if so, at about what weight los point?

Thanks,

 I HATE MINE TOO!!!!!! Nationwide Medical keeps sending me extra supplies and I can't figure out how to get rid of the machine! :) I can't sleep with that stupid mask and I have to make sure I kiss DH goodnight before I put it on, then the mask comes off during the night. UGH!!! I just went back to BreatheRight strips and that seems to work just fine.

Good question! It's probably different for everyone... I'm so looking forward to the day when I can get off mine.

I do know that even 35 lbs down from where I'm at, I still need it, as I was down that low before and did. Much lower pressure, but still necessary. I'm guessing I'm going to be in my normal weight range before I get to get rid of mine. :puke:

That is the reason why I am researching the lap band procedure. I am so tired of being sleepy all the time. I feel like I never am rested. I fight with that mask all night long. I can tell when I have taken it off the night before. I can't get a good breath. I am on the highest pressure. I hope someone on here will give us all good news.

I've had the pressure on my CPAP machine reduced by about half since I lost weight. I expect to be able to do without it in due course, but I don't know when that will be. My CPAP machine has been my best friend whilst I've had it - about four years now.

If your on the highest sitting which I belive is 25 then you obiviously have a real problem. Mine is set on 13. and I had 55 breathing occurances during my sleep study. My oxygen fell off to below 80. My doctor told me I have sever sleep apnea and he said if I have to sleep without the cpap then dont sleep or call 911. So if your set to 25 then its obiviously a life or death issue. You really need to wear that machine. Get yourself the full face mask. And suffer through eventually you will be able to wear it.

Lots of folks go to sleep without there cpap and dont wake up... so good luck...

Me too! I just can't imagine sleeping without it. Although for me, I don't think the sleep apnea is simply weight related. Both my mom and dad were terrible snorers without being overweight. My mom now has congestive heart failure and I believe it's probably related to the OSA.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
