I know there's an insurance section but I want to get some good responses here cause I'm looking for a new company. Does it matter if there is a low or high deduc. if you get WLS? Were each of you expected to pay yours?? Ty and peace and love

I had my surgery in March and so hadn't really paid much of my deductible. I had to pay 1700 dollars as my portion of the surgery. Plus a few bills have been rolling in with my portion of the tests etc. (very small bills).

The deductible is the deductible, you'll have to pay it whether you have WLS, or have your appendix out, or as many doctors checkups it takes to get it paid.

Yeah, deductibles means something you have to pay..

I had to pay my deductible. It sucked, but was totally worth it. My doctor also had a $1,000 fee for his program, so I had to pay that too. Still, WAY better than self-pay! I really admire those people who paid for it all out of pocket.

I admire (envy?) people whose insurance company paid for it :thumbup:
