I am a software technical support lead engineer. I did hold the title of manager, but due to some re-organization, they gave someone with 20+ years tenure the manager's hat and laterally moved me into the 2nd-banana slot. That's ok though - now I only have to work 8 hours a day :-)

Desk job, so, I was back at work the next morning after banding - from home of course :-) I'm back in the office today though.

I do have an interesting background though... US Marine Corps reservist as an MP and full-time LAPD for several years during my 20's... So, my current job (have had it for 10 years) is a far cry from where I used to be.

I'm a Web Developer.

Same here with the sitting all the time. I bought some dumb bells from the store and I'm going to use those however. Getting in exercise is important when you work 8+ hours a day and get little exercise. With just a pair of dumb bells i can do all kinds of exercises.

I'm a Locomotive Engineer (Hoghead) for BNSF railroad. It is without a doubt the very best and most fun job that I have ever had. I just started my 15th year this last November. I can't think of ever doing anything else.

I work for a small independent Oil and Gas Company in southeast Texas. My title is "Operations Superintendent" which really means chief cook and bottle washer / jack of all trades....master of none!

We have crude oil and natural gas production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and some operations on land in Louisiana and Mississippi.

I started out working for a MAJOR oil company for 13 years, then got lucky and found this small firm that I've now been with for the last 15. I enjoy my present job because the only people I answer to are the two brothers that own the company. Great people....great atmosphere.

Now if I could just get rid of all this fat!

Hammer

I own a company that sells blueprinting machines. I drive about 50,000 miles a year and have been making bad food choices on the road for 20 years. Like the selling part, the rest not so much. No hobbies to speak of, but I have a lifetime worth of things to do that my weight has stopped me from doing.

What is on your post weight loss list to do? I am interested to know.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
