How much did you lose before your first fill?

Hi everyone! This is my first post even though I am a frequent visitor. I was banded on February 28th, 2005. I have heard it said that you will lose quickly during your first 30 days and then things will slow down - and I have heard it said that any weight lost before your first fill is a bonus. I'm confused. So just curious what others lost during your "healing" period before your first fill? I'm due for my first fill on April 2nd and I'm really hoping that it's going to help me eat less - because I really don't feel it working much at this point. I'm hungry!

Thanks!

Jeanette

Hi!

I lost 15 ponds in the 3 weeks following surgery, but then I started solids and uh-oh!!!! I have gained back 2.5 pounds and am really discouraged. I can eat just like before the band.....I go for a fill on Wednesday and am really keeping my fingers crossed for some restriction! I get bummed when I read on other peoples posts that some take 3-4 fills to feel anything! I am really hoping for enough restriction to lose 2-3 per week. I am exercizing 4-5 days per week also, but am pretty bad about my Water intake.

After Your Surgery

Day 1 & 2= Clear liquid

Week 1= Full liquids as tolerated

Week 2 & 3=Pureed/Blended Foods

Week 4 -7 = Soft diet

End of Wk 7 = Transitional period to solid food

Week 8 & beyond- Solid food (Smart choices!)- Chew Chew

!

This is just an EXAMPLE. Please follow your doctors orders/advice. I am allowed to eat solid food (smart choices by the end of week 4 and my transition phase of trying foods is week 4). I am having my fill in week 6 and my doc wants me on full solids by then. Every doctor is different.

I am 13 days post op and have lost 15 so far. But it really depends on which scale I get one. They are all within 5 lbs of each other.
