Hi msdollarz.

It is so difficult to get all the liquids in.

As for weight..I wouldn't doubt that you have lost. I , since my procedure a few days ago have lost a wee bit, but I am waiting until my post op visit next Monday to record any change in weight.

Jay..I am not going to the meeting this week..I am wiped.

No energy to spare. Yesterday I went to the market to pick up a few things and was so very tired.

But..one good thing..I am off my caffeine /coffee addiction!(although the jolt would probably energize me, I am sure)

BTW...did everybody else have 5 incisions? When did you take off your steri strips..or did you leave them on until the post op visit?

There should be 5---LEAVE the steri strips alone!! DO NOT pull on them or remove them. You have them in lieu of stitches!!! If any strings stick out, trim them with scissors, but do not pull!!!

Hope you feel better. I'll be at the LB support group in 2 weeks. Hope you'll make it there! :frown:

Yes, I have 5 incisions as well. The nurse told me to leave the bandages on until they fall off - which I did and that was about 3 weeks.

And now for the good news..I lost 17lbs!!! in three weeks!! that is amazing. I cried on the scale. I tried not to because I don't want them to think I'm unstable, but I'm pms-ing and it was impossible to hold them back!

Dr. R was very happy. He said I did great! It's all starting to pay off now.

That is fantastic..and you should be proud! I bet you are feeling real good in self esteem right now...and rightly so!

I woke up today to find 3 steri strips completely off.

I am on my way to the CVS to get some kind of covering because they get irritated by bra band and waist bands .

AND......I noticed that I have a sixth hole...I have 2 on either side of my belly button and 3 up higher..one of which on the upper right is longer (and more sinister looking)than the others. I wonder why I have 6 ?.

Perhaps one is a needle puncture, I dunno,(I don't think so though because it had a steri strip) but the word STUDENT always pops into my mind .

Has anyone had minor hormonal issues related to the lap band surgery? My skin which has always been sensitive will not stop breaking out around my chin area which is usually hormone related...I have tried the usual course of treatment that I follow and some new things from Sephora as recommend by an Esthetician but nothing seems to be working...let me know. I am making an appointment with my primary care physician but am wondering if I should contact the surgeon's office as well.

Hope everyone is well!

Happy to see that you are banded singingintherain!

Well my friends it has been nearly 4 months since surgery and I had a fill on monday and.... I have some restriction. I know it will potentially go away soon, and it might take one or two more small fills to get to around where I need to be, but I am just happy to feel any restriction at this point. Dr. Robinson put in 1.5cc's bringing me up to 6.6 cc's.

Paige, sorry I didn't make it to the plastics thing last night, how was it?

Congrats, Jay. Hope you'll start to feel a difference! You didn't miss much last night. Mel and I were there, as were like 2-3 other people from our group. The pics were pretty graphic and all I got out of it is that I need to go for a personal consult. Wasn't worth the effort to get there......

I realize I can't make it on the 16th to the support group--our meeting is that night at B+W, right?---if it is, I can't go. Anyone up for the Faulkner on the 8th?

I might be able to make it on the 8th. I also can't make it on the 16th to B&W and personally I think I enjoyed the Faulkner Group last time we went more.

Ok...I've looked everywhere online and even called Dr. R.'s office. I got voicemail for Sari, but not for Phyllis. I'm fairly confident that the support group meeting will be on the 2nd Monday of the month, which would be on the 8th. Can anyone confirm that this is accurate??

Hi all!

I lose papers and so I posted a thread with the schedule of the meetings here:

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f42/brigham-faulkner-lb-support-calendar-2009-a-90766/

Unless there was a rumor of a cancellation or schedule change, the Faulkner meeting is Mon.

Am I under the correct understanding that there are no meetings in the Summer until October?

I plan to attend giving I have energy by the end of the day.

Fatigue is winning! Drinking just about all my Protein, but tired, tired, tired. I just ironed a shirt and thought I was going to have to go sit down and rest..that's ridiculous!

Incisions and 'stab wounds' are healing and itching up a storm! Took off all the yucky bandages and washed with Hibiclens and put on some thin tegaderm covering for surgical wounds.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
