Congrats Heidi on your new motivation.

I too have found my motivation and I hope it really stays this time. I've finally joined a gym. :) I've been sick and my goal is 3 times this week. My kids are in school together twice a week and I plan on putting aside everything else I get done and make time for me. I'm slowly losing the 7 lbs that have been up and down since thanksgiving and my goal for late spring is to be in w"one"derland. I'm 23 lbs away. So I'm giving myself plenty of time and I'm back to counting my weight watcher points and focusing mostly on Protein. We shall see If I can keep it up.

Hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work everyone.

Spring is coming and I don't want to dread it for the first time in like 10 yrs.

That's great your doing good again too! I'm still sticking to it! Infact I'm down a few more pounds!!! I will go passed my goal of getting into the 160's by the end of Feb!! I have not been at this weight in over 8 yrs, since before I was pregnant w/ my first baby!!!! wooo whooo!!!

I decided that it's all for the best. Dr Robinson wouldnt give me a fill - he said that the upper GI that I took showed that the band is fine, but my esophagus is slightly enlarged. He wants me to take another upper GI in a month and see him that day too, where he will hopefully be able to give me a fill.

I will try to come to the meeting next Monday, and I agree with you I need to make an appointment with Phyllis - I have never met her, the last nut I met with was Natalie - a little bit too long. I really need accountability.

Trying to keep my head up - and not enjoy too much food!!!

Tova

Hi Tova,

Do you know why your esophagus is enlarged? What did Dr R say. I'm just wodering because I've head a lump in my throat feeling for awhile now myself. TY.

Congrats, Heidi! Sounds like you're keeping yourself on the right path!

I have a rather "intimate" question for all of you---if you're easily grossed out, please read no further! I'm struggling with feeling full all the time, but it's not like food is sitting above my band. It's in my stomach and intestines. I've tried laxatives and benefiber, but it doesn't seem to do the trick. I have a really tough time getting and keeping Water down because I feel so full! I worked out today and that seemed to help slightly...but not sure what else to do to prevent this. I don't think it's a too tight thing. No reflux and not getting stuck---it's all just behind my belly button. Really uncomfortable. Suggestions, anyone? I've tried adding more liquids, but often can't stomach them....Help, anyone?!

I am currently reading this book as I have struggled with IBS issues even before surgery and now its out of control. Amazon.com: 4 Weeks to Healthy Digestion: A Harvard Doctors Proven Plan for Reducing Symptoms of Diarrhea,Constipation, Heartburn, and More (9780071547956): Norton Greenberger, Roanne Weisman: Books

You probably arent eating enough fruits and veggies and drinking Water. I know I know neither am I.

But I did read that if you are working out more you are sweating more...which means you need to drink water to replace what you lost. Are you drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day?

If you havent yet try Miralax...they now have it in generic form at Walmarts and Target.

I am going to try to really focus on my fuild intake and see if it makes a difference before I see a specialist

a friend told me about how you can access all your records and tests from Brigham on-line. I was with her when she was looking up her blood work.

I signed up and it says they will send you authorization via USPS

I signed up and got on immediately---not waiting 7 days for the mail! It doesn't have much info--tests run, appointments scheduled, etc. Nothing about weight or about fill levels. It had tests that I'd had pre and post surgical. My primary care stuff is on there, with prescription meds, too. Not too much about the band though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
