Why is there always one person wanting to ruin the fun of others? This is rants and raves for pete's sake!

I think the links that were posted by the OP were from a Duodenal switch board, so it sure looks like someone hunted them down. I'm all for debate but this is just catty and making fun of people who are trying to fight obesity. Not cool.
What I was referring to with "hunting them down" was going to the DS board, finding a vulnerable DSer and attacking them there. Yes, people went to the DS board and read their posts. There's nothing wrong with that. The fact is, though, they weren't attacked on THEIR board. Now, I can see how some DSers might be offended by what is said here. But it's being said in RnR, which is where it should be said, if it's going to be said. Now, of course we get childish and catty here. We always have. And come on, making fun of our fellow fat folks (Ha! Alliteration!) isn't anything new in this forum, either. There are lots and lots of threads that make fun of posts that people make here at LBT, too. It's all in (mostly) good spirits, and like I said, a form of venting. Everyone deserves a few catty, childish moments in their life. And honestly? Most of it was in good spirits, until the fighting started.

Uh, Sue....I'm glad you found something you like more than the band (or that works better for you than the band). But.....this is the "Rants and Raves" section of Lapbandtalk. If somebody finds some humor in something (and yes.....charcoal underpants and charcoal suppositories and being written up for having gas sooooo bad it would choke satan.......I find it funny) in this forum, why rip on them? It'd be like going to the Knock Knock Joke section and getting all angry that folks are posting knock knock jokes.

If anybody on DStalk (an example to illustrate my point. I don't know if any such site exists) wants to open a topic making fun of the weird products a lapbander might need, go for it. I can pretty much assure you that nobody here will make an effort to go onto that site and post about how insensitive it is.

You do sound bitter about not losing much weight with the band. I don't know if you really are or not.......but that's how you're coming off. Don't even get me started on the "my numbers are good so I must be healthy" stuff. That's for another post.

You live on YOUR side of 200 pounds and YOUR side of band experience and YOUR side of 30 years old...and somehow think you know more than I do. Maybe, someday, you'll know half as much.

Sue

Ok so can I clear this up - not only are you a band hater you're ageist too? The post to which you were replying was simply Angelica's opinion and you go off on a tangent about her being under 30, which some how in your books means she's not entitled to an opinion? (as does being over 200 pounds or still banded in your book it appears) I don't recall anything she said as explicitly saying or even implying that she knew anything more than you, but that didn't stop you from doing the exact same thing.

Just calling it as I see it.

Thank you She Smiles, I wasnt going to continue going back and forth with someone who obviously was bitter, angry and looking for a fight, but you made the point that I would have.

Wow! I read through all the possible benefits and complications/long-term effects of all the popular weight loss surgeries before deciding on the lapband. Apparently one of the biggest complications/side-effects of DS needs to be added...

DS may turn you into a stark-raving lunatic that will become enraged (possibly including uncontrollable shaking and/or convulsions) and lose all ability to engage in civil discourse when exposed to the words "Lap Band".

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!! This thread is far more entertaining than the movie I rented. "Don't get your charcoal underwear in a twist!" That is classic.

I went to the website for the charcoal panties and there is an instructional video that shows how to position the charcoal liner in "just the right spot" so it can catch the fart and filter the odor before it hits the air. WTF? I think I might get some of these for my DH the next time we go out for Mexican food. He always gets Beans, even though he knows he'll clear the house later.

Pick A Quote or Make Your Own

"I may get food stuck in my stoma but at least my farts won't put you in a coma."

"It may take me a little longer to reach goal but at least I don't have to put deodorant drops in the toilet bowl."

"I may gag and sometimes yack but at least my farts are not considered a terrorist attack."

Hehehehehe, I definetely am taunting silly, childish rhymes.

I've got news for you ... it wasnt the DS that did that to her. Stark raving lunacy was a pre-existing condition in this particular case.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
