Personal Trainer or Boot Camp

Recommended Posts

Ok.... I guess I got the the workout bug now. So I was checking on internet for pricing of personal trainer and then came across boot camp. Now it makes me wonder if anyone has tried both or prefer one over another for a particular reason...

For me im looking at cost factor and then what I will get out of that program.

So...

Personal Traniner is about 60$ a session or more?? but you get one on one help in working out and modifying diet and plans to your body type. and alot more stuff

Boot Camp is about 260-300$ (in my area) for 8week unlimited weekday training. Workout in groups but only so-so attention from trainer. diet person available... and other benefits

I want to try one of these options but kinda unsure which will be the best for me..... :confused2:

What experience you had and prefer and improvement?

I got a trainer 2 weeks ago - love him - it's worth the $$$. Boot camp here is like 6 a.m. can't work it into my schedule - with the trainer you are learning the machines and proper form - I plan on using him for 2 or 3 months for my twice a week sessions and then move to once a week.

I would go with the trainer. I just bought some sessions. I've used a trainer before too. I think bootcamp is great if you just need a little push to get started. If you really want to get a good workout routine designed just for you then I suggest a trainer. I believe it is worth the money and the pain. haha I was very sore after the first workout but it will get much better with time. My poor body was in shock. :)

Just hired a trainer yesterday. I have used him in the past. I am going to go 3 times a week for 2 months, and during that time he is going to help me establish an exercise regimen for me. I may see him every other week after that just to shake things up. I would definately go witht the trainer.

So with personal trainer do you guys/gals see him/her one day and then workout week self then see them next week or everyday? cause it sounds like it going to be expensive....

I meet with my trainer twice a week and then do cardio twice a week. I would recommend starting out twice a week and then you can cut back to once a week.

If you can find it, try to find a trainer that offers both. I had a trainer where I went to her bootcamp 3 days/week for an hour then I attended a 1.5 hour training session on the weekend.

It helped me keep the costs affordable, but she also was aware of all the muscle groups i had worked on during the week to keep things balanced.

This is what I am doing too - My trainer $60 once a week - $100 for twice a week - $100 for the whole month  ya thats a steal - that's what 2 sessions cost me:tongue: But heck I am worth $400 a month...

Some trainers also do semi private sessions. Splitting that money among 2 or three other people is a GREAT savings and you really do get the attention you are paying for.

I had a trainer for a while and intend to start up again after my surgery. I absolutely loved it. It is worth the money. I always felt so strong after the workout...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
