Anyone using Clark Memorial Hospital

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I am not using Clark co. but I live in Jeff. Due to insurance I had to use a center of excellence and Clark co. was still to young of a bariactric center for me to use. I am going through Norton's in downtown Louisville. I go in on April 3rd to have my surgery. I'm feeling happy and a little scared all at the same time. I'd love to talk with someone local, so drop me a message back sometime.

WOW!!! April 3rd. Let's try to keep up with one another.

My insurance would have paid more if I went to St Mary's, but I thought about all the follow up visits, and fills, so chose to pay more and have it closer to home. Hope I made the right decision!

So are you on your liquid diet now?

Hi, there

I would love to keep in touch with you, it helps to have someone local to talk with. I think you made the right choice to go with CMH. I have talked with a lady named Kristy who works there and was one of the first to be baneded through the new bariatric unit and she is very happy with everything. Caroline, who heads the support group there seems to be very nice also. Have you gone to any of the supprt group meetings there yet? I go to a group at Norton's every 2nd Tuesday of the month and it has helped to be able to sit in for the past 6 months. I feel more confident and have a more realistic view of what is going to happen after the surgery. I only have to go on a liquid diet the day before surgery. It really depends on the doctor and guess mine says one day, so that is what I'm going with. Well, have a great day and I'll check in later.:)

I did go to my first meeting. At Clark it's the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Helpful tips. There were two newer banders in the group who had lost 50 pounds since December!

Good to hear from you, and have a nice weekend. Your day is soon!

Hi, I'm having my surgery on april 30th. I'm excited but also very nervous about it. Mine will be at St. Francis in Indianapolis by Dr. Samuel Clark. Let's keep this going.

Hello agian,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Things all went crazy at the time of my surgery. I got really sick with congestion and my Mom caught it and my little one came down with a sinus infection, so I decided to put off my original surgery date. Things are looking up and now I am re-scheduled to have it on May 5th. Did you have yours yet?

Hope all is well with you. I will keep an eye out for your reply and get back to you asap. Have a great week.

Hello - I was banded at Clark Memorial on August 5th. The surgery went great and I am doing as well as can be expected. The pain gets a little better each day. I am looking forward to getting my life back, one pound at a time! Good luck to everyone!

Glad you are feeling better Pinkposey! Which Dr did your surgery? Macmillian did mine. We just love him and Carolyn. I had my second fill Thursday. My surgery was May 27th and I´ve lost 30 pounds since surgery, 60 in total. Each day will get easier!

I had mine done last year at Clark. They are great there and have a great after care program for the bariatric surgeries.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
