Bea - hun are you getting in enough Water in Protein? I know when I get fatigued I am lacking one or the other.

No, I'm probably not getting enough of either one. As I'm sure you've noticed, I haven't logged food in days and days. Getting back to that today. I slept for 15 hours, 3 hour nap plus almost 12 hours last night. That's extremely unusual for me. So, I'm not sure if I'm coming down with something or my body is tired and stressed and just finally shut itself down. I'm running a low grade fever, but that could very easily be from exhaustion. I could very easily go back to sleep right now. My mom is coming tomorrow though and I need to clean my house. I'm going to go to the store in a minute and pick up a bunch of "healing foods", i.e. citrus fruits, green leafy veggies, green tea etc. I think I need to detox. :D Plus, I've been very hungry the last day or so. I haven't really been "hungry" in a long time. Could be I'm sick or could be I need a fill. Don't know. Can anyone say "confusion"?!? LOL!

Bea- My doctor is booking into December now too.. Thats not usual for them. I have gotten in the same day in the past. I think it's either everyone wanting filled for the holiday feasts or that the doctors are taking lots of time off.

Good morning all. It's Wednsday... I sure wish it was Friday. I am going on a weekend long shopping trip with my mother in law and staying at the casino to play Bingo! I have never heard so many elderly people cuss until I played Bingo.

My scales is bouncing around between the same 3 pounds this week.. Ya, I know don't weigh everyday. I can't help it  I will just have to watch the high calorie drinks at the show when I go to the casino. They require you purchase 2 beverages to get in.

Hmm well sorry to ramble I had starbucks this morning. I don't normally drink coffee.< /p>

I know, I can't believe I have to wait a month to get in. Oh well! I'm really not even sure I need a fill. I was really tight again yesterday, but I'm also not feeling well. My band is crazy, just like me I suppose! LOL!

I hope you have fun this weekend. The batteries on my scale are dead and I keep forgetting to get more. I'm not sure if that's a curse or blessing. LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Hi Brandy! And everyone!

Girl I am just so busy. I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I'm exhausted.

I know Leslie is taking a break from LBT for a while. I'm not sure about anyone else.

Seems like so many threads are a little slow moving. Must be the time of year. Sports for the kids are in full force, so many of us are in school full time and work full time. Busy, busy busy.

I'm glad you're doing well Brandy. I've lost a few pounds last week. I'm still hopeful I can meet my goal of getting under 200 by the end of the year. We'll see. Only 10 pounds to go!

Take care everyone!

Yeah, I've been super busy too! Just stressed and don't have much to say. I hope you are all doing well, Lord knows I'm not. Was really bad this past weekend. :(

I got good news today: I've been accepted into nursing school. That's one stress that I can let go of! Woo Hoo!

Take care all!!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm really excited but also anxious. I know it's going to be a lot of hard work especially trying to balance school and home, but I really think I'm up to the challenge. I just can't believe I'm finally doing this. I've been working so hard for so long. It was such a reality check yesterday to be reading what supplies I'll need, etc. Wow! I truly feel like it's my calling and I can't wait!!

How are you doing?

Thanks!

Do you mean another website or another thread on lapband talk? I've noticed that the regulars haven't been around in a while. What forum have they gone to?

Hi friends!

Contrary to popular belief - I have NOT fallen off the face of the Earth!

Life here has been ridiculous - my boyfriend is being deployed, I'm working full time and in school full time - I barely have time to breathe, let alone post! Since my last MD visit, I had to have an unfill - I was unable to pretty much keep anything down, so I am currently down about 22 lbs. :) I was refilled and started back to Jenny Craig today. I'd like to lose another 10 lbs by Christmas.

My LB journey hasn't been easy..but hey, I'm still down 22 lbs that I wouldn't have been without it.

Hope everyone is well!

Hi girls,

Yes, Brandy, many seem to have floated over to B2G. I found that site a long time ago, but I didn't find it too different than here at the time so I stayed here. I have posted a few times as you know, but I really don't have time for either place.

I'm doing fine. Don't really eat well these days. I am feeling like I'm tighter than before which I've read that happens sometimes to people. Weird. I can't eat much, but can't help but wonder if my stress level isn't part of it too.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi fellow Avengers. I have posted here before but mostly lurked. I was banded on 8 Apr and also would like to be down below 200lbs by what was initially Christmas morning now 31 Dec I suppose. I keep saying what I want but don't seem to be making much if any progress. At this point, I am down 50lbs from day prior to surgery but can't but worry that I won't make my goal of being down by 100lbs at my bandaversary. What are you guys doing?

Hello Ladies! (and gentleman)...

I'm back! I've missed you all so much? So what's up with everyone?

I've been stressed lately and have been super tight - I really have no appetite at all and when I do eat everything tastes like crap! lol - why the heck isn't my scale moving???

I'm still at 214 - been there for three months now. I bought some Protein Shots at GNC and started them this week. I've got to do something to turn my weight loss around.

This weekend my friend Jeannie and I are going to the beach. Girls weekend!! Woohoo - but you know I have a darned cold? Why? WTH? Why do I get sick right before I want to do something for me? it sucks - I'm hoping I get better before tomorrow.

So chickadees - I want updates! Carol you alive? Brandy? Mom? Bea? Are we logging our food? ! I'm not! Come on girls - let's get back on the band-wagon if we've fallen off (that'd be me). I miss you all...I'll be back soon to check in - if I don't see updates you are all getting PM's from me...(whhaaahhha - okay that was my evil laugh)...

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
