Recommended Posts

Hi John,

I will be banded on the 18th and I am also getting the realize band. I have been trying to research and but haven't found alot of information except for one web site but there is no picture. Do you have any information?

Kara,

I got a pamphlet from my doctor's office. I will be the first of his patients to receive the Realize band.

Yeah I have one too, but I would like to see a picture of it. Just to know what the difference is.

Hi Turler. I think I'm doing quite well. Right now I am living the bander life. I eat - think of the band, sleep - dream of the band, go pee - think of the band, try to work - come to these boards and talk about the band. Other than cleaning my house like a madwoman (I'd make Cinderella proud) - though this is linked and is "unofficially" bandstuff - it is band 24/7. I think it has become an obsession. I am excited, giddy, nervous, hopeful all at the same time. I can't tell you the last time I have looked forward to anything. It must have been my wedding or the birth of my children. Of course the latter I knew would involve pain, as this will, until I heal and become a WHOLE NEW PERSON. I can't wait to be the person inside my body instead of being trapped in a fat woman suit...well how are you?

Hi April bandsters. Well, my big day arrived yesterday...Finally:smile:

I lost 11 lbs on my preop 2 week diet and here I am the day after getting banded and I am on that darn liquid diet for another week:smile: Ok though, as long as I am getting results I am happy. Don't even feel like I have anything in me yet. Probably too swollen so I can't feel port yet.

Yea, So glad it is over with for that part.

Boy, I have got to tell you that Dr. Edwards has got to have probably the most FANTASTIC staff going. Just wonderful..ALL of them!

Hope you are all doing well. I am thinking about you today cinnimae. Know all will go great for you. can"t wait to hear. Think I will lay back down for awhile, not as bad as I expected but am bruised, swollen and really tired, soreness not real bad. Trying to move alot.

Take care everyone. I love reading all your news.

Have a great one. Linda:thumbup:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
