I've swapped addictions...

Recommended Posts

It use to be eating....now I am addicted to touching my collarbones. Literally, I could touch them all day long...

I read about this in People...although I think shopping would be more fun!!!

LOL. I haven't seen much of my collar bones yet.

I like to lay in bed and pinch my belly roll and visulalize how much closer together my fingertips are getting. NurseAmys tummy photos are really inspiring me. I also like to touch my port as a reminder that it is working quietly at its job. I ask other people if they want to touch it, too. OMG.

Rainer, I used to do exactly the same thing!! I'd be sitting at my desk, absentmindedly drumming a beat along my collarbones. You are not alone!

You could feel your collarbones AND shop. Now that's an addiction! Shop only for clothes that show off your collarbones!

My new addiction is wearing my too-loose jeans waiting for people to comment on them, then saying "Oh, I know, I need a smaller pair!"

OMG... I am so laughing my butt off! I'm doing the SAME THING! Not only that but I've also discovered that I have shoulder bones and when I lay on my side I have hip bones! Amazing things!!! Oh, and my knees are making an appearance also!!!!

My DH was standing behind me earlier today and was massaging my shoulders and he made a comment that it's not as easy to do anymore because I have all these new bones showing up. LOL I loved it! Imagine... at only 37 pounds... what will it be like at 67????

I haven't lost much, but my husband swears my rear is getting smaller and seemed somewhat upset about it. LOL...

I'm addicted to playing with my incision steri strip tape... It's been a week now (tomorrow) and I just want this sticky crap off me.. My incisions look sealed up pretty good, so I keep pealing little by little back. My hubby has to keep telling me to leave them alone.

I'm addicted to touching my ribs. When I lay down, I can feel them and I could never feel them before. Even though I can only feel them when I'm lying down, I love to touch them. It's a start, right?

Hehe, I posted this last week in the 20's area. My collarbones are a new fascination for me too. I am always touching them and looking at them in the mirror.

Hip bones for me... I can only feel them when I'm laying down on my side but I'll just lay there and keep rubbing them. I really can't believe it sometimes. I haven't felt my bones since high school!

I can't see my collar bones yet, but I lost a lot of weight in my face and neck. I am amazed at the disappearance of my double chin. I constantly touch my chin expecting it to reappear and it never does!!! I can feel my jaw bones, my shoulder bones and my wrist bones. It's amazing. Even my 23 year old son came up to me in the kitchen last night and said, Wow Mom, I think your forearms are the same size mine are! where did they go so fast? I just wanted to hug him!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
