March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Jonathan you can do this! Look at this goal as a writing deadline. Set up a outline/course of action and get it done. Damn the darn duck!! And anything with white truffles. It's appetizer size portions for you.

Strap that BodyBugg a little tighter, buckle down and get the work done!!!!

YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Tragically, the thing is, I'm pretty sure that I can do it WITH the duck breast!

I have to watch the weekends - if I'm not walking to and from work, I get much less exercise, which is the killer for me.

Amanda thanks for the pep talk. I use the daily plate to log my foods so I think that is pretty close. I have that I'd like to lose 2 pounds a week and for my weight I should be able to eat 1500 calories a day without exersize. I do know I hardly ever eat that much. I do walk about 3 times a week and I just uped the time and added a hill so maybe that will help. Not sure I'm up to jogging just yet fat would be flying around everywhere. I still have a bmi of 43.

I also just looked at my weight loss and even tho I did gain in the past month I lost 12 pounds so I guess I probably should have looked at that before I had my big pity party. It just really bugs me when I gain.

Rhonda you have to change your signature line.

"My goal is to be half the woman I am now" If that is true you want to be 111.5 lbs!

It should read "My goal is to be half the woman I was a year ago. Im more then half way there!!"

36_1_55.gif weighing every day or ever few days is depressing for me. I weigh on the scale at work once a week and then of course when I go for a fill or my PCP. I recored my weight the day before surgery on all 3 scales, so have my baseline, down. seems to be working for me..

I talkd with my DR about dropping my lipitor and avapro, for cholesterol and BP, but she said there are new studies out there that show other benfits of the medication for women. So she is only going to cut them back, but keep me on them. My cholesterol is great right now and my BP is holding strong at a great ##, Can't ask for any more.

That's great, Lynn! I think the health benefit of weight loss is SO much more important than the Improved Cuteness Factor!

Amanda! I went and looked at that site, and know that at any second I'm going to be busted for looking at photos of teens in lingerie! THANKS!

Hilarity aside, that's a cute idea, and looks like a great project - wtg, Amanda's niece! And who knew that knitting was all about the garter belt and stockings?

And before you complain about my "male metabolism", do you have any idea how much walking I have to do to burn 5300 calories??? Less than you, perhaps, but do you have any idea how much energy it takes to drag this huge carcass all that distance?

Well, I guess you do: 5300 calories! But, still!

Calendar Geeks (shameless plug- again)

I can't believe she's doing this- as a kid I just did lemon-aid stands.

Hi Everyone-

Haven't posted in a long while. I have had 2 fills, now up to 2.8cc and seem to be OK. Too much fill on 2nd try and had to go back to have some taken out. REally struggling late at night. Any ideas for coping? Take care and good luck!

Hi Everyone, I just finished catching up on the last week's worth of entries, you guy's have been busy out here....and seem to be doing great.

I'm enjoying my Florida vacation, been here since late Saturday evening and it's rained everyday. My food choices have not been perfect but could have been worse. I'm not getting in as much walking as I thought I'd be doing either and need to get a handle on it. We brought the dog with us this trip so when he wants to go do this thing outside I make the most of it and walk him a little further than he really needs to (SMILE).

It rained ALL day yesterday and the sun is shining now, so guess it's time to get dressed and go take the dog for a longer walk, I'll talk later, just wanted to check in.

Fenton, I forgot to post this yesterday, but I love Family Guy. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that, but I do love it - but my number 1 show is the Office. Any other fans?

Amanda, I've tried numerous types of socks and I still blister. I'm going to just not exercise until my feet heal. Maybe if all the blisters are given a chance to heal they won't come back! I'll just have to be extra careful with my food intake. Thanks for the suggestions though. It's great to be able to talk about all my issues with people that understand.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
