Calling All Surgeries Monday February 25th

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!!!! I am a bit nervous, but I am sure that everything will be just fine. I have been on 4 Protein Shakes each day and the few select foods that they allow for yesterday and today. I am amazed that I really am not that hungry. I guess the Protein really keeps you satisfied. That gives me hope for the weeks to come. I have to be at the hospital at 8am...I assume the surgery is around 10am. Hoping to be home by 5pm. I'm really most nervous about nause and vomiting, but hopefully they will give me good drugs!!! Also hoping I dont' puke that barium stuff!!!!!!! Praying for successful surgeries and quick recoveries for all!!!!!!!!!

I just started to get nervous. Just now. I was reading a thread about someone's liver that was so big they had to close them up and well...since I've cheated like a scummy dog on my pre-op diet....I'm terrified this will happen to me. I know I deserve it, but I'm also praying for God's mercy on this one!

I can't help but be amazed at all the people here with compulsive eating issues that can stick to the pre-op diet like pros. I must be the worst of the worst of the worst of the overeaters since I can't even stay on a diet for a day. Please Lord, PLEASE let the band help me!!!!

Gibson, you will do great tomorrow! Put all the worries out of your mind and envision a positive result. A positive attitude is the best thing we can take with us to our surgery. I TRULY WISH THE BEST FOR EVERYONE TOMORROW! We are going to be so successful...

Cindy

Dang, I wish I would have gotten into this conversation sooner... I'm getting banded in what, 9 hours and I'm totally freaked out right now.. UGGGG.

And Gibson, I followed the South Beach diet to a T and lost like 9 pounds until Thursday.. I then broke down and had half a baby ruth candy bar!! No carbs, but PLENTY of sugars.. SO, I hope my liver isn't too messed up either. I'm hoping that ten days of no sugars or carbs and following the diet strictly was enough to shrink my liver up good.

Good luck to everybody.. We should try to report back here tomorrow sometime if we have enough energy and share our stories..

Congrats to you all who were banded today. It's over, and now your new lives are begining. Enjoy the adventure. I'm two weeks out, and feeling great, still have a little port pain but that's all.

Well, I'm back and banded. I didn't win the nausea battle, however the staff really tried. I started throwing up right before the barium swallow. I have to say that was pretty painful. BUT, that is just me. I have motion sickness which adds to the nausea from anthesia.

Today I am a new person. Just very sore but SO much better than yesterday. I'll post more later.

Oh, apparently I'm not a burper. Wished I could at this point!

Me, too. I got home today around 11 am. My surgery was supposed to start at 1 yesterday, but I didn't get in until almost 3. Had gall bladder taken out, That area hurts more than the the others. Lots of gas. Taking it real easy. Crystal Lite and nectar strawberry Kiwi, yum!!!!! Hope everyone is well.

My surgery went fine yesterday, and I was back home in time last night to sack out in the recliner and watch House Hunters, with my lovely perscription of Loritab....have to keep the tv off of anything that could show or talk about food. The worst part of the surgery for me was how bad my throat felt from the breathing tube they put in during surgery. I'm finally able to swallow again, just in time for these horrible gas pains to hit me between the ribs. I'm full of GasX strips and Mylanta chewables and walk all the time, but they still hit every once in a while. I can't make myself drink anything but Water, either...maybe tomorrow. My surgeon said he wanted me up and around and out of the house today, so I went out to Harris Teeter earlier today. Not bad.

Glad to see some of you are already posting and doing pretty well, too. That's great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
