  1. My surgery went fine yesterday, and I was back home in time last night to sack out in the recliner and watch House Hunters, with my lovely perscription of Loritab....have to keep the tv off of anything that could show or talk about food. The worst part of the surgery for me was how bad my throat felt from the breathing tube they put in during surgery. I'm finally able to swallow again, just in time for these horrible gas pains to hit me between the ribs. I'm full of GasX strips and Mylanta chewables and walk all the time, but they still hit every once in a while. I can't make myself drink anything but Water, either...maybe tomorrow. My surgeon said he wanted me up and around and out of the house today, so I went out to Harris Teeter earlier today. Not bad. Glad to see some of you are already posting and doing pretty well, too. That's great!
  2. I, too, am a February 25th'er. Arrive at the hospital at 7:00, surgery at 9:00. This morning I started my two days of liquids. I've been on a high protein diet since 2/5, when I had my surgeon eval. I haven't decided if I am staying overnight or not. While my hospital requires this be inpatient for coding purposes, I am self-pay, so my doc said, since they already have my money, I could go home that night, if I am doing ok. My family wants me to stay; I want the complete night of sleep I would get at home. Wait and see how I feel, I guess. Great luck, everyone!!
