I am planning on walking Saturday. I felt bad because I stiffed all last weekend, and the weather was not all that bad. I did go to the YMCA on Sunday.

Linda, how much have you lost since surgery?

Judy, I think I lost 8 lbs on phase 1 and then 7.5 since surgery. I try and weigh myself on Sundays only.

I was running late this morning and ate a hard boiled egg, standing up, over the sink, too fast - OMG. It wasn't a full fledged stuck or slime but I was spitting and had pain. Good lesson.

I'm so excited I finally got my 1st appt on nov 5th. Went to the seminar in October. I keep trying to make mental notes on all the great suggestions on what to eat or how to prepare it. I have a feeling I wont get into to b banded till after the new year & that makes me incredibly nervous that my husbands health ins is going to change & that I may go thru all this to find out the ins wont approve it. Cant seem to get any confirmation from the HR Dept abt it yet.

Danielle:

Iwonder if you explain the insurance problem to Dr. Posner, if he will push up the surgery to before the end of the year.. It can't hurt to try. Call his office and talk to Leslie. She is very nice and maybe she can ask Dr. Posner and you can get on the SB diet right away if you are not on it already.. Just a thought. Good luck.

Especially in the early stages fast is not your friend.

Ain't that the truth! I haven't touched a hard boiled egg in 2 weeks, ever since it got stuck so bad I thought I was going to die.

8_1_233.gif8_1_232.gifHey guys, haven't written in a while, wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holloween. The candy is in the house, has been for four days now and I've been alright with it, but it has also been in the laundry room "my least favorite room" lol...but tonight when its in the bowl in my hands, that will be the real test. down to 227 now from my original 289 so I am starting to feel the loss, but when I look in the mirror, I still see the fat girl. oooohhhhh.... any way, I'll talk to you all soon.

So Band, the fill must have helped you? I am pretty sure it helped me but honestly I have not weighed myself since I got the fill. I will probably weigh myself tomorrow. It is funny how we are all different, I can have candy all over the house. I am an overeater at meal time.

glad to hear from you. Maybe coffee next week or on the weekend.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
