Eileen,

I agree I think that eating and being overweight is a self esteem issue. Its also a vicious cylce that leads to more eating and lower self esteem. Thats why I like to think that my stomach wasnt broken but my brain is whats broken. Fixed the stomach but still working on the brain.

Vicky, hope all is well.. I now have 5cc and I really don't feel much restriction. I go to the clinic on July 1st and hoping they give me another fill. Maybe that 5.5cc would be the magic number for me too. I really don't want to go thru what you and Rain did with being too full but somethings gotta give.. I am not loosing and really getting discouraged.

You really missed a good meeting last night.. Maybe see you at the next one.

shar

Yea shar, I do think maybe a 1/2 cc more would do the trick, I will try and make the next meeting, its so nice to meet people you talk to online and put a face to the name.

It sounds like it was a great meeting.. I too am discouraged, especially since I gained 14 pounds! all we can do is plug along and do out best. we will get there someday and hey its better than getting bigger as we might all have done without the band.

Joannes, Everyone is different.. You should really try to come to the support meetings and you would really be surprised. Some people loose most in the first 2 months, some loose more slowly, and some don't loose much at all untill they get their first fill. The meetings are the 3rd wednesday of the month at 6pm.. Its fun and everypone is very nice. shar

Hi Everyone,

It's me luckyclover is't been along time since i been here. Been waiting to hear from the Dr. office since Feb. when i sent my papers in. Well i went to the seminar on Thurs. the 18. I tought it was very informative. Even my husband that it was good.:) They said that they were going to start calling people on Friday. No phone call yet but its only sunday. I sent in all my info from my pcp and all my other specialist. Now what do i expect. What happens next? There were about fifity people or more at the seminar. If anyone was their that night just let me know and i'll introduce myself. Well sorry it's been so long. Hi Everyone,

Kathy, yeah he is hot and so is Dr. Hoffman.. They are both good doc's.. I don't know if anyone told you before but be sure you copy any information you give them because sometimes the info is stollen by the BGH Clinic Fairy !! And then its a real pain in the BUTT to duplicate if you need to.

Good Luck.. it seems that time will go by quickly once you get your clinic visit which is the phone call you are waiting for.. If you don't get a call by the end of next week, I would call them !! Then they will put you on the south beach diet and you need to loose 5% of your total weight in order for them to schedule surgery after the insurance approval..

good Luck-- try to come to the support group meeting on July 15th 6pm at BGH.. Its also very informative.

Bugs, Dr. H does not have the expertise or authority to say you need to be on a CPap. You should have a sleep study to determine if you need one or not. Perhaps he suspects you need one (my gyne thought I needed one) but you still need the overnight study.

hey there bugs, i have independant health, they require no co pay, but you need to use the machine it comes with a card that you have to send in every month or you will have to pay to rent the machine. like 200 a month. yipes

I also have Independent Health and I had to pay about $500 for my machine. In fact I am due for a new one in December and they already told me my out of pocket expense will be about $500.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
