Bathing Suits?!

Recommended Posts

I didn't read all 3 pages of posts so I hope I'm not repeating...If you want something sporty Speedo or TYR has lots of choices --the only problem is the sizing system is different. If you want something a little more stylish I think Old Navy has some really cute one piece swim suits.

Nobody seems to have my problem. I'm 59 and my stomach has hung down for many years. (dang gravity) I have trouble finding a suit with a top long enough to to cover my "apron". Lane Bryant catalog is the only place to find one that will cover me.I have lost 63 lbs. but my tummy is not really getting much smaller. I guess when I get to goal I will need a Tummy Tuck. I went to Kohls to see if I get something to support my tummy(ie girdle) and when I asked the skinny ,young girl if they had any girdles she asked me what a girdle was. I felt like slapping her. LOL Not my day. Guess I'll have to wait for my tummy tuck!

Zippykat, if you are having issues with length one thing you can try is the maternity lines. They are often made longer. I have a friend who is 6'1" and she buys lots of maternity things, and takes up some of the tops etc. She needs the extra length.

Many are sold in separates, you can get the top in maternity and the bottoms in womens or misses if needed. Most tops will go with a black or solid color bottom.

zippy, I do have that problem too

What I did Was I bought the 2 piece with a super tight bottom piece and a larger top piece and I just altered my top to hold my boobs up. Not major alter or anything but simple strap shortning and tightened up the elastic uner the boobs.

But with the tight bottom it pulls in my apron and is also high enough to cover to my belly buton. and the top comes down far enough that I dont risk skin showing but not so long it is a dress.

Target has some cute suits, but they're NOT made for busty women .

With my new tummy, I could wear a lower style and show my new belly button....NOT ME! At my age I'm sure I'll stick to the one piece, LOL.

When I say 2 piece I men the tankini type. Everything is covered but I get the convience of 2 pieces. Means I can mix and match. Which I love.

I'm sure I'm just being a broken record - but Land's End has got us big girls figured out!! Even at my highest weight, I could buy a Land's End suit via catalogue and every one of them looked good. They have definately earned my business - even though they are a big pricey. And they are so well made that you can wear them for years. I just got the catalogue, and I am circling the ones I want for this summer when I fully intend to be in a size 18!

I have found really good suits in the Eddie Bauer catalogue (also Lands End) in larger sizes, plan black and cut in a flattering way.

Good luck!

hey i had a hard time finding what i wanted and finally went to ebay. got the questions answered before i bought and could pick bottoms for my big butt and tops for my not so big boobs. everyone i asked questions of on items was more than willing to meaure and take additional pics if needed. plus a lot of sellers on ebay buy a whole "lot" of previous years swimsuits so you may find your favorite suit now in a smaller size. g2s

I'm having a hard time finding a swimsuit. I haven't worn one in probably 15 years (i'm 27!). I found one that looked good, then I looked at the back, and I had back fat squeezing out of the hole below the 'racer back'!! Went hunting for more today and all that I tried on gave me back cleavage!! BACK cleavage!!

I bought some kind of yoga/bike shorts to wear over whatever swimsuit I find, cause I'm not cool with my thighs at all. All the tankini type things I saw, the shorts were verrry short. I'd like to not have to wear a swimsuit AND shorts, so I hope I can find some kind of separate swim-top.

My friend bought a work out top and swim suit bottom. I know they make bike shorts in the quick dry material. you could try that.

But personally your too young to freak out about how you look right NOW in a suit. you are losing the weight. You will be able to wear anything soon.

WAIT! You are at 134 and freaking out about your weight?!

Honey take a friend to shop with you. and trust their advise. I am sure your body image is worse then what you really look like!

I went yesterday and tried on some suits from Walmart and target. What is up with this halter trend. I got a huge hump at the back of my neck, I think its called a dorsal or something....anyway the halter tops just magnified it....it was awful. The suit themselves were cute but I couldn't get past the halter part so I didn't get one. I am kind of a fan of the bathing suits with skirts cuz I hate my legs showing, I have found that the two piece bottoms don't come down as far as I'd like. So, now I am rethinking my suit choice to maybe a one piece and trying to find some board shorts to cover my legs. Plus, black is my first choice always, but I am really fair complected any other color suggestions for us ghosts?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
