Banded on Friday, Jan 25

Like every one says...Thank God for this site and all of you! I was very well prepared for most everything and had few surprises.:D

I think the worst of anything has been the gas pains. I knew they would be there, but, well I have nothing I should write in a public forum to say, except they were, and still are the worst part of the surgery. I am lucky in that I have no pain in the incision areas. At least if I do it is masked by the gas pains. I think one of the best tips I received before surgery was RUN to the bathroom when you think you might pass gas! With all the running I wonder if I still need to walk 30 min a day - lol.

No matter what....a few days of discomfort is nothing compared to the great health....and body that will come of it. I am still so excited I had it done.

I did have one other problem. Apparently they gave me morphine. Never had a problem with it until this surgery. My entire body is covered in an itchy rash and I have huge open ulcers on one leg. But I know this too will clear.

Again, I want to thank every one for all of their help and support. I only hope I can help some one as you helped me.

Glad to see you came out of it ok. There has been plenty on here more graphic about gas so if the need be, you can print it. :D

I hope you are checking with your doc on the rash and the ulcer and getting the right meds to make them better.

Congrats A1barb! Glad you came through so well! I was banded on Friday too and still have some pain at the port incision if I get up in a strained position, but other than that........doing great. Sounds like you are too!

Take it easy.....recover well!
