Its been a while :blushing:..

Had 2 PCP appts so far and Have My 3rd Follow up with the LB Doctor in Nov Along with my Psych Eval..

To date, I am down 12 lbs  yeppie  I will be honest that I havent been working too hard at it but just making little changes that seem to be helping, and Working out..

What I feared is currently happening... My insurance denied two of my 3 pcp appts. Got a bill for 120 bucks today  I dont know i am going to do.. Need to call PPO blue tomorrow..

If that doesn't work, then make sure the PCP has 'coded' the visit correctly (needs the numbers that show it's a PCP supervised diet. If you have a bariatric policy then these should be covered. FYI- make sure you NEVER combine a sick/other visit with these diet visits...I saw someone here have to do more months of the diet (start over) because she was sick when she went in and that's how it was coded.

The other thing to check is have you met your yearly deductible yet? I had to pay 100% of any type of visit until the deductible was paid; then I paid 10% of the next batch until I reached our family cap. for the year.

Just some thoughts, but I'm sure the ins. co. will tell you.

Hey B_G! just wanted to check in.. I got those visits paid for and I am cleared for surgery.. I am having my surgery March 19 at West Penn  Was the 12th but it got moved

Cant wait!

Hi Nina,

First off good luck on your surgery! I did not have Dr Eid, but had Dr Ramanathan....I think they are all in the same group at Mckee.

I was on liquids for 5 day before surgery. It has been 10 months and lost 50 pounds....It has been a good thing.

Good luck let me know how you do.

Sandi

Congrats! McCloskey did mine too in April of 2009. You are the first person I have heard that had her for a surgeon. Good luck!

Nina- Just wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming banding. Dr. Eid gave my Magee seminar and he was really nice and very informed (I ended up chosing AGH though)...Eid seems like he'd be very easy to talk to, which is important with fills, etc. Congrats! -BG

Congrats on your LAP-BAND® surgery. I'm schedule for 5/26/10 at West Penn Dr Urbandt is the doctor also. How was your experience?

Hiya  I really like Dr. Urbandt! he was great to my parents too (after the surgery he went to talk to them and everything)

the first few weeks were great for me.. I have hit some road blocks, nothing Dr Urbandt has done, its my own problem.. I thought having the lap band would be the answer to my prayers and be easy to do.. It hasnt been for me.. But I will get on the wagon again and I go to see him 5/18 I am sure i will have a heart to heart with him then.

Well the first few weeks you are on liquids and soft foods. I think i lost like 12 lbs in 2 weeks.. But after starting to eat regular foods i didnt have any restrain so I could basically eat the same foods i did before the surgery but I would TRY to eat smaller amounts.

I didnt give up soda before the surgery either and I stopped drinking for 2 weeks after but I was having a bad day one day and stopped for a mountain dew (its like a smoking for me hehe) Now i am back to drinking soda daily (dont look down on me! please, trying to be honest with you) I have zero pain with soda or overeating.
