I have a 10cc band with only .6cc's in it and currently I am able to eat oranges I really like them and for what ever reason it seems that when I eat them I tend to have a nice weight drop the next day. I was wondering if after my next fill if I will be able to eat oranges or will this be something that will block my band any thoughts would be quite helpful

I think that's sort of individual. Like, I can't really eat eggs and some people have no trouble with them. I can eat oragnes some days if I take a really small piece and chew it really well. I think you'll have to experiment.

I too love oranges. I have eaten them, but found that the fibrous material that is left in your mouth after you chew is difficult to get down. So I just chew all the juice and pulp out, and spit out the pithy stuff. I have also noticed that I weight well the next day, but that's becasue it now acts as a laxative for me.....

Ditto for me, except for the laxative part lol.

Let us know how you do. I love oranges and that was one fruit I do not want to give up. I have not had a fill yet but hope I can eat them once I do. What about Mandrin Oranges?

I am not a big fan of oranges but, I have noticed that plums tend to cause me discomfort no matter how much I chew it. Sad because I love a nice plum ohh well!

I've been allergic to oranges all my life. Strange cause I can eat any other citrus, just not oranges. I've heard they are supposed to be an issue, but aren't necessarily for everyone. Just depends on what works for you after I spose.

I tried to eat mandarin oranges out of a can yesterday. After 3 wedges I knew I was done and that I wouldn't be eating those again for a while--if ever. I also had the bright idea to try a donut. Bad idea. 2 bites into it and I was up walking around hoping it would go down. It did, but it made me realize that no donut is worth that! I will stick to my oatmeal.< img src="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I can eat oranges as long as I peel the outer membrane and chew the rest. If I eat too quickly or swallow too much whole.. I get a stuck incident.

I love grapefruit peeled and eaten like an orange too!!! YUM!

I am 4 weeks out and tried an orange yesterday. I cut it in half and then went around all the sections with a knife (like you do with a grapefruit). I ate only the orange sections without the pithe. It was good and I didn't have any problems with it. I don't know about next week when I get my first fill though. I will probably stay away.

I'm 2 months out.. and I can eat oranges as long as I don't eat the membrane around them... I also eat grapefruits peeled like oranges.

Apples.. give me some trouble... I never thought of eating oranges like a grapefruit. :)O mmmmm

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
