I am freaking out!! I need advice......

I went for a fill today and they couldnt pull out any of the Fluid. He had a hard time getting the needle in my port (which is kind of normal but more difficult today). I really felt no restirciton when I went in today and have been able to eat whatever I wanted the last few weeks. My last fill was in Sept. They ended up saying I could have a small leak but there not sure. I had my surgery in Mexico and am waiting for a call back from that Dr. I was sick from about 14 days after my sept fill to two weeks ago. I wasnt eating a lot because of that so I have no idea if the restriction was gone before two weeks ago.

Has this happened to anyone else? The only think making me doubt the leak is that my friend goes to this same Dr and the first time she went (after three fills from other Dr's) he coulnt get out any liquid either. She has gone back twice and there has always been a fill.

Not sure what to think.....looking for any advice.

okay here is my update. I already lost this post once so I hope I am not posting the same thing twice.

I went to the Dr to see if I retained any of my fill. This was done under floro and they couldnt pull anything out. I was not suprised since I felt no restriction. They then put in a dye with the saline and watched it go into the port/tube/band and couldnt find a leak. They decided at that point to use the omnipaque with some dye and have me wait for a while to see if they could pull all of that out. I waited two hours and go back under the floro. They can't find any puddling of blue (from the dye) outside of the port/tube/band but they did pull out all of the omnipaque which means that it was holding.

Two Dr's were in there the entire time and the both firmly believe I have a small leak that they just cant see. We are now hoping that the onmipaque will hold so I dont have to have the port replaced. He filled me to a 2.6 and this morning I can still fill a restriction. Not as great as I have been (my largest was a 3.2cc fill) but I was not hungry this monrning and am having to make myself eat.

Thanks for the prayers and I will keep you posted. The Dr said I should know in a week or two if the fill doesnt hold. If it doesnt then I will head back to my surgeon in Mexico (he was on oprah on Mon) and have it replaced.

Ok, I'm reading all of your post and getting really SCARED about fills! Do all these attempts to find the port hurt? Do they give you a local or anything? I know every doctor is different, but now I have a couple of new questions to ask my doctor!!

Shannon, poor baby! My first fill, actually, my first year and a half was withOUT flouro, but on the first fill, he missed the port entirely. Thank goodness all fills are done under flouro now.

Keep us informed....hugs.

Yeah I have always done mine under floro. Know the fills dont hurt. They give you a numbing shot and you cant fill a thing.

If its done under floro it is normally not a problem at all.
