I am freezing

Recommended Posts

I have lost 45 pounds all together. 20 before my surgery and 25 after. Has anyone else noticed that they get cold really easily after losing weight? Everyone is complaining that my apartment is too hot. People will say it's not cold outside when I am FREEZING. I used to be hot all the time. I would wear short sleeves when it was 50 degrees out. Now I will be cold when it is 70 degrees out (it's winter, but it has been a few days here in VA).

Same here! I hadn't owned a coat in many years......guess I carried my own insulation! But things are different now. I wear a coat any time I go out the door....I wear a sweater or jacket indoors...I sleep under the cover...heck, I even wear shoes around the house, something I'd never done in my life! I had DH install a wall heater this winter because it always feel chilly to me. Whole new world to me!!

I too have noticed the change in my internal temperature.....I am cold most of the time now, and I always am under a blanket while watching tv and I sleep with three blankets on top of me and in warm PJ's. Before my weightloss I was the person with the fan on in the winter in the bedroom and drove with my windows cracked in the winter without a coat....LOL

36_1_26.gif Cold here outside and freezing to me inside. DH is sweating bullets, but he wouldn't dare lay a finger on the thermastat.

Keep clothes on after work, when I use to just put on a lightweight robe.

I notice I get really cold when I have to do Clear Liquids after a fill. What's up with that? I have only lost 15 pounds so I still have plenty of padding left!

I've been SUPER-DUPER hot natured ALL of my life. As in if I'm comfortable, I know everyone around me is freezing.

My weight loss since banding is very stop and start....like drop three or four pounds in a week, then not lose anything at all for three or four weeks! I have noticed when I am in a losing phase I am like 'chilled to the bone' all the time. When that goes away, I know the scales are gonna level off.

Weird, but interesting. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

My husband, who's endured years of being uncomfortable to try and keep me content is loving that I'm asking him to turn the heat up!!!! I hope when it's all over and I'm at goal I'll be 'normal'.

Oh yeah, I can identify. I keep a sweater and a heater on at work. Keep covered up watching tv and ALWAYS have socks on 24/7. Don't know what I'd do if I lived up north?????

Yep - I'm an ice cube!!! I am always cold!!!!! My nose, my hands and my feet are like ice. My DH calls my hands "Dr. G Hands" for that autopsy show on Discovery Health.

I worry about my nose as to whether I'm losing circulation and how long/how cold is too much or a problem.

I know I'm sexy now when I go to bed  - I got the flannel pants, socks, and a long sleeve shirt. I think I need to add a heating blanket!!!

brrrrrrrrrr

OMG! I have lost 90 lbs and before I lost the weight I was hot all the time. Now on a cool day the heater can be on 80 and I'm still cold. My husband bought me this pink robe and when he bought it for me it fit me, not it hangs on me, I can wrap it around me twice. Anyway, when I get cold I wrap up in that and get under my covers. I always have to keep socks on or my feet freeze. I never realized one of the advantages of being fat, insulation lol.

Wow! I am so glad to know I am not crazy. I am freezing all the time now. I have lost 52 pounds and I think all my blood went with it. LOL I even keep a blanket in my car and put it over my legs when I drive. Donna

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
