The craziest diet I did was the Stop the Insanity with Susan powers in the early 90's?? You got to eat, breathe and move. You could have carb galor but no fat. So I vas happy with the 1/2 dozen bagel thing for a while and lost 20 lbs or so. Only to break down and go back to burgers and fries which put the 20 plus 10 in a flash.

She was an infomercial maniac, where is she now??

I'm going through the test phase to be a banster.

While I'm here, can I say how much I despise the Adkins Diet? I still see people eating a pound of bacon... but nooooo, they can't touch a stalk of brocolli! So I read the entire Adkins book from front to back. In the very last pages, in a very small, gray box, it says that you have to watch your Portion Control. In the back of the book there's an index that tells you exactly how much bacon you can have, how much cheese, how much steak, etc. The portions are regular-size portions that you'd expect on any weigh loss plan. But nobody reads the small print, so they keep killing themselves with piles of Protein thinking they are following the Adkins Diet. Wrong. You have to measure, even on Adkins.

Sorry, just getting home from work. As per the two glasses of milk and two apples, I think I can attribute the little weight I did loose to all the bathroom visits. I read that the body would adjust and this would stop. Well, needless to say, MY body did not adjust. I came off of it and gained the weight back over night, Oh my. (smile)

I lost tons of weight on Atkins...and generally loved it. I could have up to a cup of day of most (but not all) veggies (which btw is maybe what I was already having) and fell in love with splenda...but those first 4 days were riduclously hard and I missed fruit and Cereal. Now I sorta refuse to diet (which means my walk with wl will be slower)...eat what I want (generally...I never was a sweet eater but love food in general) and eat smaller portions. I'm schedule for fill number 2 (which hopefully will put me at 2cc's) and hope I won't have to revert to dexatrim to keep the food urges down...especially now that I've started wogging again. *Sigh*...I can't wait for it to get better.

When I was 16 years old, I was tired of not fitting in at my school, never getting any dates, always getting teased, etc. I sold my horse for $1000 so I could have a local dentist wire my teeth shut for a year!!! Crazy, crazy, I know... I really did lose a lot of weight and for the first time was under 200 lbs but of course it all came right back once I was released from my wired food prison. Life actually improved dramatically when I finally graduated high school. I've never been teased with such cruelty since then. Actually I don't think I've even openly been teased since then. I'm sure people have had their own thoughts and stares but fortunately people do seem to gain some manners in adulthood.

A friend of mine had her jaws shut & had the same results (big loss, even bigger gain.) I asked my dentist to do it before getting banded, and he said, "No way, LEAVE MY OFFICE." He just loves me.

Anyway, I need some crazy crash diet right now. Duh, you'd think getting a major surgical weight loss procedure would do the trick, but my head is all friggen screwed up. Obsessive compulsive addictive whacked out psycho hereditary genes or something.

I did the cabbage Soup diet, the first week was easy, then coming home and my whole house smelled like it, it got old fast! I don't think I will ever forget that one!

When I was about 15 my mother took me to a local Dr. There would be a huge line to get into his office on Friday afternoon. You would pay the receptionist, the nurse would write a script, the Dr would give you a Water shot and he would sign the script for diet pills, that was in the 70's. Man that was great speed!!! Do you know I was about 150 lbs, I thought I was huge. After the Dr lost his license, (believe it or not), I gained all my weight back plus 30 more lbs, then it was weight loss clinic, weight loss center, diet work shop, diet center. I lost and gained the same 50-100 lbs over and over again. After my 2nd daughter was born I took redux, I loved that!! plus I got "down" to 200 lbs, it took a while but I eventually gained all of it back, (I think it took 4 years to gait it all back!!.

I havent been under 200lbs since I was about 20 (pre kids). I hope to be there by August.

I did the black beauties thing too, but I dont think I slept for about 3 months...

Doesnt top the zapper story, that must have been horrible!!

I think the wildest ride I had on a diet was when I did Meridia weight loss pills... I was taking them in the morning and washing them down with two cups of coffee...(maybe three if it was a hard morning). I didn't realize that the Meridia was a stimulant and then the caffine in the coffee would compound it. I would start SWEATING PROFUSELY.....it would just pour right off me....Then the heart would start racing...my blood pressure was up....and then I use to have to either walk around the building at 100 miles an hour, or HOLD ONTO MY DESK ... cause it was blast off time! If I couldn't get away from my desk, I would shake and jitter....Oh my God, I was tweekin!!! It was horriable! I lost 30 pounds in three months...but damn near killed myself with my blood preassure going nuts!!!! Then within 3 months of being off the Meridia, I gainned back 60 pounds!!! Pretty bad experience, but NOTHING like Delarlas camp from hell!!

Here's a good one. Before I got my band I was moving forward with the bypass (since my insurance covers bypass.) My primary doc is like my girlfriend, and she begged me not to get a bypass. She asked me if I'd try a new diet pill first.

So I took her speed, which made my blood pressure go sky high, then the insomnia kicked in. I had an appointment with my gyno, who knew I was on the diet pills. She gave me blood pressure medicine and Xanax to help me sleep and to take the edge off the diet pills.< /p>

Pretty blue pill for Breakfast, white one for lunch, blue for dinner. How patriotic. And deadly. So I took out a loan and got the Band.

Here is my almost never ending list i gave to al the Doctors to try & get approval from insurance(which I didn't) The nerve of them telling me I hadn't tried a doctor supervised year round(12 mnths in a row) diet! Who the hell sees a Doctor for a year every month for 12 in a row for a diet anyhow?? You go to clinics & gyms don't you? LOL

Any how the only thing I didn't do was that Fat Camp-which I would have loved to do if I could have found on close by. I think my craziest was the Vitamin B-12 shots & some sort of pill-I had no idea what it was truthfully. I think Letha did the same thing-LOL

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
