FYI: I finally found a protein powder I LOVE!!!

Recommended Posts

Since being banded on the 4th, I've desperately been searching for a Protein Shake or powder (to add to skim milk) that I really, really liked and that made me want to really, REALLY drink it. I found it! So, I'm going to share my discovery with you.

I found it at GNC. It's expensive, but totally worth it. I got the Rich Milk chocolate flavor and it's called "Pro Complex". It's 60 g. of Protein per serving. HOLY MOLY! What I'm gonna do is split the serving each day. I'll have 1/2 serving (of course that would be 1/2 the powder as well) in the morning, and then the other 1/2 later in the day. Let's see if this finally helps me get full. Nothing else is working.

Oh...I'm also gonna check online to see if I can get it for a lower cost somewhere else. It's kind of outrageous, but since I have 1 more week of full liquids to go, I think it's totally worth it. :bandit

apple,

My doc's wife is expecting at the end of February and he needs me to move my date up but I have child care issues until Feb 18(winter break no school). So I have been playing phone tag with the patient coordinator trying to resechedule. Original Date 1/30/08, then 2/21/08, now I have no idea?

Krista-thanks for sharing, I'm going to buy some to try it out. Haven't been banded yet but that was my main concern because I have such a problem getting anything down that doesn't taste good to me.

Thanks, Taismommy for posting that. The calories are rather low, the fat is low also. I think it's a good tradeoff for 60 g. of Protein. :whoo:

I am going to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for sharing! If I could do one shake that would be awesome, otherwise, I don't eat my 3 meals!

Thank you also taismommy for the info. Where are you from? I already have 4 kids, whats a few more? I am in Colorado.

This seems like it would be really good for a low carb diet too. And 60g of Protein is unbelievable! Thanks for posting, I've been having a hard time getting my protein in (I'm not a huge meat fan). I still eat meat, just not much of it. My hair has been falling out too, so maybe this would help.

I find bargains online all the time--and I especially like the ones where I get free shipping!!

By the way, you will probably need to continue with Protein supplements even after you go to solids in four to six weeks in order to get in your 60 - 80 grams, m'dear--so it's great you found one that you absolutely love!

I may just have to try this (and split it into two servings, like you!) :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
