Food Journal Thread

I'm starting to keep track of my daily food intake again, it is the only thing that keeps me accountable..when I have to write it down and I see it on paper it really does help me.

I got to do something, I have made a serious vow today to get back on track , so here goes

Monday 9/19

5:30 am 2 cups of coffee

Breakfast 8:30

2 poached eggs w/ 1 piece of dry wheat toast

lunch 12:30

2 slices of roasted Beef sirloin ( from Boston Market) with mayo and pepper

snack 2:15

Protein Shake made with vanilla soy Protein Powder, 2% milk and 1 banana & ice

dinner 5:00

3/4 c chicken and rice casserole

1/4 cup green Beans

Snack 7:00

1 handful of teddy grams

OK OK I will start too. I agree Michelle this is the only thing that will keep me honest. I hate the scale today.

Breakfast:

OOPS!! Missed that

Lunch:

One cheeseburger patty with no bun.

Tall glass of iced Tea

Snack:

Boost chocolate Drink 8oz

Water intake/how many

hours between last meal and bed time.

I log veggies or fruit for snacks

I hope that you meet your weight loss goals

Tuesday 9/20

8:30 am 1 cup of coffee

Breakfast 9:00 am

2 poached eggs w/ 1 piece of whole wheat toast no butter with 1 tsp of

hollandaise sauce

lunch 12:30

1 cup of leftover chicken & rice casserole

snack 2:30

1.5 ounces of peanuts

dinner 5:00

1/2 salad

1/2 piece of meatloaf

1/2 spiced muffin

4 bites of mashed potatoes

Day 3 Wednesday 9/21

I'm so proud of myself, I have made it through 2 complete days of NO icecream or chocolate, and no night time snacking after dinner and for the most part eating much smaller portions

6:00 am

1 cup of coffee

8:30 am Breakfast

1 piece of bacon

1 hard boiled egg

lunch 12:00

2/3 of a chicken breat

1/4 cup of cottage cheese

Dinner 5:00

1/2 pork chop

1/2 cup of white rice

small salad w/ blue cheese dressing

I just LOVE egg beaters with reduced fat cheese.....yummy

Alright I think this is what I need to get me going again....

Breakfast - nothing early lunch meeting my NC lap band buddies.

Lunch - @ 2 oz of talipa (sp) w/ a few bites of mashed potatoes

snack - laughing cow light cheese

dinner - @ 2oz of taco meat cooked w/ refried Beans added a little cheese, lettuce and tomatoes

H2O - @ 40 - 45 oz

(had a fill on monday and boy is it working)

Today is my 3rd day with the band

For example today I have had:

7:30 a.m. 2 oz chicken broth

8:45 a.m. 2 oz strawberry glucerna ensure

10:30 a.m. 2 oz cream broccli Soup (watery)

11:45 a.m. 2 oz strawberry glucerna ensure

12:30 p.m. 2 oz watery instant mashed potatoes

2:30 p.m. cream broccli soup (watery)

2:45 p.m. 2 oz pudding

3:00 p.m. flinstone Vitamin

3:15 p.m. 3 oz cream of chicken herb ( watery)

4:15 p.m. 1 oz applesauce

5:15 p.m. 3 oz strawberry glucerna ensure.

2 slices pumpkin pie with no crust, cool whip tpp

small biscuit and gravy (took 4 diff times of the day to eat it all)

2 cups tomatoe Soup (twice today)

1 slice of toast with cheese (twice today)

chex mix

candy

(I NEED A FILL!!)

1 cup of egg beaters 120 calorie's

1 slice of potatoe bread 100 calorie breakfast

lunch 2 cup's yoplat fat free yogert 200 calories

1 /12oz cup of gourmet Cappuccino 160 calorie's

dinner 2 cup's yougert 200 calorie's

another cup of Cappuccino 160 and banna 100 calorie's

for a total of 940 calorie's

and 10 glass's of Water so far... through out today!

Ps hope all of you are losing weight!

Total 1965 Calories The Most I Have Ate In A Year I Think?

"i Am Coming Down With A Cold Was Stomach Sick So I Just Fed My Face All Day!

      I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

      Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

        I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

        Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

        Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

        I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

        I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

        BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
