I have completed all my pre-op requirements for insurance and waiting on everything to be turned into insurance. It is driving me nuts waiting. And this I will go even more when it's turned in and waiting on the insurance to approve. Then even more crazy when I have a date and have to wait for it to arrive.

By the end of this, I will be nuts. LOL :omg:

Hi everyone,

I just started this process also. I have just joined on here a few days ago and have started reading all the information, it really is alot to take in! I am 28 years old, 260 ish pounds, and 5'4'. This is the heaviest I have ever been, and I know I need a change! I think lapband is the right choice for me, but who knows how long it will take for me to save up the money since I am sure I will be a self-paying (cash) patient. I am asking for everyone who believes in prayer to pray with me for a way for this procedure to happen.

Everyone seems very helpful on here, and I am looking for some great advice from people who have already been banded. Hopefully we can all go through this journey together!

Ok, just had my Mental Evaluation today, I know he told me that I was a good candidate but I promised myself that I would not become excited until everything was run through and the surgical date was set. I cannot help feel a little excited though; to even have the thought of change is more then enough to be happy about. I know this is going to be a tuff road ahead but by darn, I am just happy to have the idea of having this opportunity…

I am nervous.

Loup

I'm 27 and haven't even gone to the seminar (2/20) yet so that I can schedule my consult. I've got a BMI of 37.1, 5'2", 203 lbs. My goal is 125 lbs. I had a weight problem as a teen but when I really hit the gym I could take it off. Once I had my son at 21 I couldn't anymore and then I had my daughter at 23 and really couldn't get my weight down. I did lose 20 lbs in 2005 but once I stoped the low carb thing it came back with a vengence and I can' t lose more then 5lbs and for every 5lbs I lose it seems I gain back 7. I want to get this under control once and for all before my big 30 sneaks up on my and my metabolism really does a flop.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
