Officially in band land

Just thought that I would let ya'll know that I was home. My surgery was at 7:30 this morning, it took about 30 minutes. I got home about 1 pm and that is with an hour drive home! I'm feeling great right now, I hope that I don't jinx myself with that comment. I do have gas and I am ravenously hungry ( my fiance might wake up to me chewing on his arm tonight :heh:)

I have no trouble getting up and down from a sitting position. Getting out of bed is a little more trouble. To tell you the truth I felt worse after doing a spinning class than I do now. I will take a pic of my incisions tonight and get them posted on the scar stages page. I've been taking gas-x strips and I have a pretty bad headache I assume from hunger.

Just a progress note. I have already lost 10 pounds since Monday. I went and had a Manicure and a Pedicure yesterday. I would highly recommend that to everyone. I'm doing really good with the soreness but I am having a lot of stomach cramping and explosive you know what!

I bought some Isopure last night to try and help me get through this week of Clear liquids. If I don't ever have to touch broth again that would be fine by me! I do see why some people refer to Isopure as Isopuke, OMG. I've never had this much willpower in my life! Up until today I have had my mother and my dearly beloved helping me. My mom left this morning and my man has to work midnight shifts this weekend. So pray that my willpower stays up. I cannot wait to eat some creamy stuff. I've been trying to think up recipes of things to make with my magic bullet. I think the first thing I'm gonna make is a smoothie with peaches and some of the vanilla powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury that I bought.

I just made a BIG mistake. I thought if I took my Isopuke Grape and put some ice in it and chop it up in the magic bullet I would have an easier time getting it down. It made the whole thing a big thick foam. I had to let it sit for 30 minutes to get all the air out!!!

Hello bandsters! 2 weeks from today (the 25th) I am scheduled for surgery. I had a pre-op physical, ab u.s., lab work, upper g.i., chest xray, surgerical

consult and on Monday I have a stress echo (thanks to my personal doc who I just happen to work for - she's VERY cautious/conservative) Each day I say, "This is the right thing for me. I have researched it, talked about, and worked towards it." I also have a mini meltdown each time I think about how I have failed in the past so many times, does this surgery confirm all my failures? I sit here crying as I write this. My struggle (as so many of the people I have read on this site) has been long and hard. Up and down. My father passed away in March from every complication there is from diabetes. I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. I know I am headed down the same path as he. I don't want to be model thin. I am, quite frankly, too old for that, but young enough to still want to enjoy biking, hiking, camping and living life without worrying about my weight all the time!

I so appreciate this web site. I have read so many "testimonials" and appreciate everyone's perspective - negative and positive. This site has

educated me on so many things that are not covered in seminars, nutritionist visits, or doctor's visits. I am going into this with my eyes wide open, but I am still anxious.

Sorry if I sound redundant, whiny, or needy. I am sure I will be on a roller coaster ride until the 25th and possibly thereafter. I am also so excited to feel like I will finally have some control on my over eating!

Thanks to everyone for sharing. It makes me feel like I have many friends who have my same experiences and emotions!

Thanks to you all. Karen
