Oh yeah...I bought a Michael Kors handbag today! I got a really good deal on it too! It was actually 50% off, but I told Susanne it was 75% off...ssshhh!

:smile::lol:

I just ordered 3 new pair of pants & a dvd player for the bedroom. In my defense, I only have TWO pair of pants that fit anymore and I cant wear shorts to work...... I won't tell if you don't!!!

Oh! And I did sleep earlier....and had a dream about going to the Dr. to get a fill. There I ran into Judy and Kat!! We're all like "Wow! What are you doing here??!" hug hug kiss kiss Then, since my doctor is the coolest, of course he has a dance floor , disco ball, and a popcorn machine in his waiting room and Judy was dancing with the file clerk (?), cabana boy (?).... hell, I don't know who he was but he was CUTE and YOUNG and sweaty from all the paces she was puttin' him thru. LOL!! Kat was just in a recliner taking it all in with a big grin and waitin' for her fill. (What's wrong with this picture?)

2:48 and I am up.. it's Friday I gotta make myself stay up..some reason.

Funny dream, now go interpret that one

Late night makes me stupid, I just posted in R&R about my whole.. the band is a miracle thing, not a tool for me. I dunno, I hear about how you gotta exercise, gotta change your eating. I did not do anything. I don't eat fast food and I don't binge anymore.. but it's 100% the band. If I could, I would!!!!!! I still eat candies almost every day. Small amounts, again 100% the band.. I'd eat the whole bag if I could. So anyway, just don't know how I can be the only person on here who is really truly 'not changing' their habits and losing. I'm a (lucky) bad role model I guess.

Thats why I avoid the mentor program thing, when I get PMs asking me 'how you did it', etc.. I don't lie and I'm not a good example apparently. Everyone else 'works at it'. I just.. coast along and let it do its thang. One day I am sure I will need to do something like exercise, but.. till the scale stops, I can't motivate myself. I told ya'll when I was in the routine of working out, I stopped losing weight.. the week I stopped exercising I lost 3lbs!! So, it's psyching me out.

Good Morning, Violets..

I'm up, showered and getting the last minute things packed. I couldn't sleep last night. I finally dozed off about 2:30 and here I am up at 6. Gonna be a long day for an old lady, but luckily Kris will drive the 4 hours it takes to get to the airport city. Tomorrow morning at this time she and I will be on a plane to Florida!! It's 48 degrees here right now. I am so ready for warmer weather and some sunshine!

Terry... I have my Bracelet packed and will take a pic of it and me on the ship. Can't wait to show of my "original, commissioned work"!!

Everyone stay healthy and safe while I'm gone. I'm gonna miss my Violet "fix".

Terri, Thursday my girlfriends and I drove almost 200 miles to go see the "Precious Moments Chapel" and we had such a good time but while I was on the road I got 4 phone calls. My famiily knew that I was gone for the day, actually spending "ME" time. Can anyone go a whole day without Suzanne????? So yesterday was my sis and bil's anniversary. I had told them I would go to Appleby's and get dinner. They are late eater's so I knew it would probably be around 9 pm before I got an order. Well in the meant time I went next door for my neighbors 8th birthday party. I waited the whole time for someone to call me and tell me they were ready for dinner. I get home about 9:40pm and they want to know if Appleby's is still taking orders. I told them it was too late, I doubted they would take it and besides I had to get up early to go to work. Why didn't anyone call me? They said they didn't want to bother me. Soo, I'm 200 miles away from home and call me all you want but I go next door and you don't call. What's a person to do???????????????????

Bon Voyage Judy!!!

Good morning violets~Had a great nights sleep. Macy is at moms and I slept like a log! I still woke up kind of early but that's OK.

Terri-you are right, we just moved here in December but we have lived on the same property for years so our landlord would not have a problem if we left our lease early. It is relatively easy to find 2 BR houses. The hard part is finding prices that are reasonable but yet in decent neighborhoods. So it is fun to just ride around & look. I am so sorry that you are going through tough times. (((hugs)))

So what does everyone have planned. We know Judy is cruising and Pammie is Vegasing...I am just gonna kick back & relax.

Have a great time everyone. bbl.....

Laura-you may not have had to work as hard as others have to lose weight but you have struggled at times to make good choices. I recall some posts from you when you had junk at work that you fought yourself off of. The band is not a miracle...you coud eat around the band if you wanted to, you have just made a good judgement call NOT to eat around the band. Do not cut yourself short. Give yourself some credit. You have had to work at it...just maybe not as hard as some folks. You said that you do not eat fast food anymore...well that is directly related to you working your tool. I am quite sure if you worked at it hard enough you could find something on that fast food menu to eat, and if not then there is the mental thing we go through having to deal with the fact that we are not allowed that stuff anymore. So whether it is mental or physical, it can still be a challenge. I just do not want you go through this thinking that you aren't doing anything cause you are....just maybe not as much as you thought you would, ya know?

So in a nutshell, your band and YOU are doing a fantastic job!!

Ok, Suzie...thanks for 'splainin'....I hate it when I think it's just me being stupid when I don't understand something. Happens a lot with Jenn (lol) but not usually with you! It definitely does sound like you need some 'me' time. It's such a shame that you can't seem to get a break with that pool situation! What IS the status now anyway?? What are you needing to happen weather-wise? 10 days of dry weather or what?

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
