Popcorn Question....

Recommended Posts

I know that we are only supposed to eat a cup of food at a time, does this also include popcorn? It seems like you would not get any, if it was only a cup. I ate some at the movie, but only ate until I satisfied...

Thanks

Honestly, I've been too scared to try popcorn. I've read that a lot of people can't handle it and I'm too chicken to try it. I wouldn't want to even attempt eating popcorn from the movies, too much fat and calories IMHO.

I know in the past, popcorn didn't fill me up at all. So if I attempted to eat until satisfied, I would probably eat it all. I think I'll just stay away from it, for now anyway.

sat i went on a date with my wife. we went to longhorn, i ordered ribeye with mushrooms and onions. i cut it real small, and ate slowly. first time my wife ever finished a meal before me. i only ate about 6 bites, plus salad(no bread). At the movie (nat'l trasure2) i had a med size popcorn, ate very slow, lasted most the movie,...no problems. my dinner from longhorn made 4 meals! my wife is very pleased with our grocery bill.

I eat popcorn a lot. Some people can tolerate it and others can't. I happen to be able to eat popcorn when other things bother me. I save up by doing extra cardio, etc., and eat movie popcorn at the movies because it's one of my favorite things to do! I just get a small and eat one or two pieces at a time. Sometimes I can't finish the bag and other times I can....depends. It was one of those treats that I am glad I can still enjoy. I follow the plan of quit when you are full before you get that "one bite too many" syndrome!

Never had any problem with popcorn; my doctor even said it was fine no problems; His comment was: how could you go to the movies and not eat popcorn? " it's like chips, they break down easily and go down like chocolate!!!! Also 8 lapbanders in my office drink soda and have for over 4 years; not a problem

I have eaten popcorn on two occasion but not very much. Before the lapband I would eat all the popcorn insight.

I could never understand how thin people at the movies would leave their half eaten popcorn in their seats. I always wanted to go and pick it up and eat it but never did.

I can not believe that I am satisfied after just a couple of handfuls does not seem very fair.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
