Yes, but you edited your post, Laura. You said Michelle originally. That's what I was responding to. Your edited post makes more sense.

Well I was referring to what was going on, and edited it since it sounded nasty. I meant in general, everyone can sound rude, cause the internet doesn't point out funny and sarcasm

Here is my thing...

#1 I am PMSing big time..grrrrrr

#2 dh and I had a spat this morning and we never even say a cross word to each other so that should tell you something.

#3 I will go I just want a decision to be made already. This back and forth stuff sucks.

#4 Michelle-If I took your post the wrong way, I apologize.

(((((((breathing)))))))))) as per Judy ;)

This is just my opinion, OK?

I have been thinking about this for some time and I think that for a first get together, sharing a house is a bad idea. In a perfect world I would like to think that we are all really close and on this website, we are. But the basic fact is we do not really know each other well enough to be in a house together in the "middle of nowhere". Some of you may refer to it as BFE LOL

I think that after we get to know each other in person, the next trip (if there is one) could be in a house together if we all decide it is a good idea.

I think for our first in person gathering, we should all be able to have the safety of our own private rooms to reetreat to.

What do you all think?

TracyK

hey there sister. I honestly don't care about the cost of a room, it doesn't matter to me to have private space if a couple decide to share a room that is ok too

Here is what I think... I don't fly and hope we can find someplace on the east coast and I'm happy. I just want to enjoy and get to meet you all -

Tracy - I'm sure that even if we decided to rent a house together there would be private time for whoever needed it. But lets talk to anyone else to see if they feel the same way too. It wont make sense to rent the house if there's lots of us that feel like you.

As far as myself I don't mind sharing rooms or even sharing beds. I've shared more with ya'll in the past year than someone I might have known for five. But I understand that not everyone is like me and I respect anyones wishes.

Michelle, you're doing a great job in keeping everyone informed and on task. All of us are grateful to you for being the one that is organizing this. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Love ya'll...

Gotta tell ya, I'm disappointed too. I'm not a drinker and casinos are not my thing especially with all the smoke. I just loved the looks of Splash Mountain and would have been very happy in a house with all my Violet Sistas.

Please let me know what the plans are for this get away, cause if the casino is the main focus, I'm not sure I want to spend my time in a hotel room while the rest of you are out doing your thing.

I know, I know. should have said all this before, but I was sure Splash Mountain would win just cause it looked so darn good. Oh well. Live and learn.

An a more positive note, I had 14 people at the lapband support group meeting today. What a great time we had!! Everybody talking and getting to know each other. Hopefully they'll all continue coming and we didn't scare anybody away!!

Don't forget the Graceland is only about 20 minutes away. DH and I went on the tour on honeymoon and it really was something else. I hope there is enough interest in some of us cause i woould love to go again!

Well, I'm sorry. I feel bad now, I didn't realize so many people would have been unhappy with the decision, or I wouldn't have mentioned it. I just figured it would give us more to do than just sitting in the cabin all weekend (I love you guys, but I don't even like sitting with my bestfriend on the couch for days!!).

There is a spa right in front of the hotel, it's a 5-star hotel with 24/hour room service, and I'm getting us the best-of-the-best rooms.. for free.

I am not rich for now, so gambling was NOT the focus. It's there if we choose.

Within 1 mile there are TONS of outlet malls, where you can find awesome things at great deals.

Graceland is also there.

There is plenty to do, besides gambling & drinking. But they are there for those that want to indulge.

Grand Casino Tunica: Tunica Hotel and Casino. Book Your Tunica Hotel Reservation Online

That's the hotel, you can click on the Belissimo Spa, that's the spa.. It doesn't have a lot of info, but I didn't look around much.

There's nothing on the events calendar for our dates, but I think that's because it's so far out. As time gets closer, maybe they'll have a show or something fun going on at the time we could look into.

I did see this tho..

Harrah's recently announced a partnership with food Network star Paula Deen to bring her passion-fueled culinary artistry to bear on a new buffet, one which will bear her name, Paula Deen's Buffet. The 560-seat buffet is slated to open in May 2008

I watch her cooking show, it is such greasy unhealthy southern food hah hah.

The rooms I can get, have 2 double beds in each. I'm checking availability this week, to get the suites.. which is a large living room, connected to 2 double bed rooms.

So 2 people per room.

If they don't have enough suites, I'll at least get 1 suite for hanging out in (couches, tv, etc.) and 2 double bed rooms for the amount we need.

I need a new count on who is going so I can make the reservations. I'll wait till Friday for everyone to make up their mind that we are OK with Tunica, and who can or can't come.

And if someone does not want to share a room, they can take the living room, which has a pull-out bed. The connecting rooms, have locking doors on each side, so you can lock either ways.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
